PwC India is seeking a Data Privacy Consultant to ensure compliance with global data protection regulations. The consultant will advise on privacy frameworks, conduct assessments, and implement best practices to safeguard personal data across the organization.

You will work on GDPR, DPDPA, CCPA/CPRA, vendor assessments, data flow mappings, RoPA, DPIAs/PIAs, training, and governance. A strong background in information security and privacy, plus relevant certifications, is required.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in law, engineering, information security, computer science, or related field.
  • Master’s degree in MBA, law, information security or related field.
  • 2–6 years of experience in data privacy, compliance, or information security.
  • Strong knowledge of GDPR, DPDPA, CCPA/CPRA, and other international privacy laws.
  • Strong expertise in encryption, pseudonymization, access management, and privacy controls.
  • Experience in conducting privacy assessments, gap analyses, and audits.
  • Familiarity with data governance, risk management, IT security practices.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Certifications such as CIPP/E, CIPM, CIPT are a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Support Data Protection Impact Assessments (DPIAs) and Privacy Impact Assessments (PIAs).
  • Provide training and awareness sessions on data privacy and compliance.
  • Design, evaluate, and advise on technical privacy safeguards such as encryption, pseudonymization, access control, and other privacy‑enhancing technologies to ensure compliance with global data protection regulations.
  • Review contracts and data processing agreements to ensure alignment with privacy and regulatory obligations.
Mandatory skill sets:
  • Bachelor’s degree in law, Engineering, Information Security, Computer Science, or related field.
  • Master’s degree in MBA, Law, Information Security or related field.
  • 2–6 years of experience in data privacy, compliance, or information security.
  • Strong knowledge of GDPR, DPDPA, CCPA/CPRA, and other international privacy laws.
