Job summary

Albemarle Netherlands BV in Bengaluru, India, seeks a data engineer to design and implement scalable data pipelines using Azure services. You’ll collaborate with data scientists, analysts, and stakeholders to define data requirements, build ETL processes, and ensure data quality and security across analytics platforms.

The role involves developing data models, dashboards, and ML-related workflows, with an emphasis on governance, security, and cross-team collaboration.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• 4-6 years of experience in data engineering.
• Hands-on experience with database and cloud platforms (Databricks, Spark, Microsoft SQL).
• Experience developing and maintaining data governance and security frameworks across Databricks and EDW ecosystems, including access controls, data lineage, auditability, and secure data-sharing practices.
• Experience with Azure Data Factory for orchestrating data workflows.
• Proficiency in Microsoft SQL Server for data storage and querying.
• Hands-on experience with Azure Data Lake for big data storage and analytics.
• Experience with Generative AI tools such as Azure OpenAI or Databricks Genie.
• Experience with version-control systems (GitHub, etc.).
• Demonstrated ability to use data to make strategic recommendations and inform decisions.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to present findings clearly and concisely.
• Proven experience working in collaborative teams, including co-development of models and results.
