Job summary

EXL is seeking an experienced Data Engineer / Analytics Engineer to build and maintain modern data pipelines using Snowflake, dbt Cloud, and Fivetran. The role emphasizes leveraging AI coding assistants to boost productivity and ensure scalable data solutions.

You will collaborate with business and technical stakeholders to design data models, semantic layers, and data contracts, while embedding data quality and governance throughout the analytics stack.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of data engineering or analytics engineering experience.
• 2+ years hands-on with Snowflake and dbt.
• Experience building production-grade ELT pipelines.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain end-to-end data pipelines from source systems into Snowflake.
• Configure and manage data ingestion using Fivetran.
• Develop and maintain dbt models, tests, documentation, and deployment workflows.
• Design data models and semantic layers for analytics consumption.
• Implement data quality checks, validation processes, and data contracts.
• Use AI-powered coding assistants to automate development and documentation tasks.
• Review, validate, and deploy AI-generated code.

About the Role

We are looking for an experienced Data Engineer / Analytics Engineer to build and maintain modern data pipelines using Snowflake, dbt Cloud, and Fivetran. The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience with cloud data platforms and be comfortable leveraging AI coding assistants such as Claude Code, GitHub Copilot, or Cursor to improve engineering productivity.

Key Responsibilities

• Build and maintain end-to-end data pipelines from source systems into Snowflake.
• Configure and manage data ingestion using Fivetran.
• Develop and maintain dbt models, tests, documentation, and deployment workflows.
• Design data models and semantic layers for analytics consumption.
• Implement data quality checks, validation processes, and data contracts.
• Use AI-powered coding assistants to automate development and documentation tasks.
• Review, validate, and deploy AI-generated code.
