Job summary

EXL is seeking an experienced Data Engineer / Analytics Engineer to build and maintain modern data pipelines using Snowflake, dbt Cloud, and Fivetran. The candidate should be comfortable leveraging AI coding assistants such as Claude Code, GitHub Copilot, or Cursor to boost productivity.

You will design data models and semantic layers for analytics, implement data quality checks and data contracts, and collaborate with business and technical stakeholders to deliver scalable data solutions.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in Data/Analytics Engineering
• Hands-on Snowflake and dbt in production
• Experience building ELT pipelines
• Strong data modeling and data quality discipline
• Familiarity with AI-assisted coding
• CI/CD and Git-based development

Responsibilities

About the Role

We are looking for an experienced Data Engineer / Analytics Engineer to build and maintain modern data pipelines using Snowflake, dbt Cloud, and Fivetran. The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience with cloud data platforms and be comfortable leveraging AI coding assistants such as Claude Code, GitHub Copilot, or Cursor to improve engineering productivity.

Key Responsibilities

• Build and maintain end-to-end data pipelines from source systems into Snowflake.
• Configure and manage data ingestion using Fivetran.
• Develop and maintain dbt models, tests, documentation, and deployment workflows.
• Design data models and semantic layers for analytics consumption.
• Implement data quality checks, validation processes, and data contracts.
• Use AI-powered coding assistants to automate development and documentation tasks.
• Review, validate, and deploy AI-generated code.
• Collaborate with business and technical stakeholders to deliver scalable data solutions.
