Role Overview

We are seeking a dynamic and results-driven Data Consulting Practice Lead to build, lead, and scale our India GCC data practice. This role is perfect for someone who thinks differently — someone who challenges conventions, brings deep technical expertise, and pioneers innovative approaches to solving complex data challenges for clients.

As the Data Consulting Practice Lead, you will drive the Practice strategy from conception to execution, building and leading a high-performing team of consultants while staying hands-on with client engagements, architecture decisions, and technical delivery. While deeply understanding the technical and business context that drives successful outcomes for our clients, you'll be accountable for the practice revenue, margin, delivery optimization, client satisfaction, quality, team utilization, and more.

You’ll work across multiple platforms and technologies, leveraging modern tools, cloud platforms, and automation to deliver exceptional value to clients. This is a hands on leadership role for someone who takes ownership, measures impact fearlessly, mentors’ talent, and isn't afraid to bring fresh perspectives to solve complex challenges for clients.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and execute a comprehensive data consulting practice strategy tailored to the needs of Fresche India GCC
• Lead, mentor, and grow a team of data consultants, architects, and engineers based in India.
• Own client relationships and act as a trusted advisor on database architecture, migration, performance tuning, and modernization initiatives
• Drive pre-sales efforts including solutioning, proposal development, and technical presentations for prospective clients
• Oversee delivery of data consulting engagements — including on-premises, cloud, and hybrid data solutions — ensuring quality, timelines, and client satisfaction
• Stay hands-on with key technical engagements, providing architectural guidance across databases such as Oracle, SQL Server, PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB, and cloud environments (AWS, Azure, GCP).
• Identify and develop new service offerings and out-of-the-box solutions to address emerging data challenges faced by our clients and partners
• Collaborate cross-functionally with sales, delivery, and product teams to align messaging, proposals and solutions with client needs.
• Analyze practice performance metrics — utilization, revenue, margins, client satisfaction — and continuously optimize for growth and profitability
• Stay ahead of industry trends, emerging database technologies, and best practices to bring innovative ideas to clients and the practice
• Champion the integration of AI and automation into data consulting delivery
• Collaborate with our Channel Leader to build and maintain relationships with technology partners (Oracle, Microsoft, AWS, etc.).
• Drive recruitment, training, and career development plans for the India-based consulting team.

Qualifications

• 20+ years of proven experience in database consulting, database architecture, or related technical roles, with significant experience delivering in the India market, and at least 3-5 years in a practice leadership or managerial capacity.
• Deep hands-on expertise across multiple database platforms (Oracle, SQL Server, PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB) and cloud database services (AWS RDS/Aurora, Azure SQL, GCP Cloud SQL, etc.).
• Strong understanding of how AI and automation can be leveraged to drive efficiency in database management, monitoring, and optimization.
• A track record of building and scaling consulting practices, driving revenue growth, and delivering successful client engagements in India.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to translate complex technical challenges into business value for clients.
• Experience managing and mentoring a technical consulting team, ideally in a fast-paced, client-facing environment.
• Excellent communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills to engage effectively with Indian clients, partners, and internal leadership.
• Strong understanding of the Indian enterprise technology landscape, industry verticals, and client buying behavior.
• A growth mindset with a genuine passion for technical innovation, continuous learning, and mentoring talent.
• Relevant certifications (Oracle, Microsoft, AWS, etc.) preferred.
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related field; MBA a plus.
