Job summary

Crescendo Global Leadership Hiring India seeks a Team Lead for Data, Analytics & BI in Gurugram. You will oversee end-to-end data projects for insurance clients, partnering with stakeholders to define scope and translate insights into actionable recommendations.

Lead offshore and onshore teams, direct data engineering, reporting, and modeling workstreams, and ensure high-quality dashboards for underwriting, claims, and portfolio metrics.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in analytics-related field is required.
• 10+ years in data analytics, BI, or analytics consulting with 3+ years in team lead/delivery.
• Insurance domain experience (commercial/specialty) is strongly preferred.
• Hands-on BI/visualization with production dashboards (Power BI/Tableau).
• Strong SQL and at least one analytics language (Python or SAS).
• Experience mentoring offshore/dual-shore analytics teams.
• Proven client management, stakeholder engagement, and solutioning capabilities.

Job Description - Team Lead Data, Analytics & BI (Insurance)

10+ Years - Gurugram

Role & Responsibilities:

• Lead end-to-end delivery of data, analytics, and business intelligence projects for insurance clients, ensuring on-time, quality outcomes across commercial and specialty lines engagements.
• Partner with client stakeholders and leadership to understand business requirements, define project scope, and translate analytical insights into actionable recommendations for the insurance business.
• Develop and maintain trusted advisor relationships with client counterparts, serving as the primary day-to-day point of contact for project delivery, escalations, and strategic alignment.
• Provide technical direction to onshore and offshore team members across data engineering, reporting, visualization, and predictive modeling workstreams within the insurance value chain.
• Design and develop BI dashboards and reporting solutions using Power BI and/or Tableau to support underwriting, claims, pricing, and portfolio performance metrics for insurance clients.
• Support internal business development efforts by contributing to RFP/RFI responses, capability presentations, and opportunity identification within the insurance and financial services verticals.
• Identify and articulate opportunities for analytics expansion across the client's insurance portfolio, including underwriting performance, loss reserving, claims analytics, and commercial & specialty lines profitability.
• Facilitate client working sessions and lead recurring project status meetings, communicating progress, risks, and issue resolution to business and technical stakeholders at all levels.
• Manage day-to-day project operations across dual-shore delivery models, monitor progress of deliverables, and proactively resolve blockers to maintain delivery momentum.
• Ensure industry best practices in data governance, analytics methodology, and BI standards are followed across all project workstreams.

Candidate Profile:

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Economics, Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related analytics field (Required).
• 10+ years of experience in data analytics, business intelligence, or analytics consulting, with at least 3 years in a team lead or client-facing delivery role (Required).
• Domain experience in insurance commercial lines, specialty lines, or broader BFSI - with demonstrated understanding of insurance business processes such as underwriting, claims, pricing, or loss reserving (Strongly preferred).
• Hands-on proficiency in BI and visualization tools, specifically Power BI or Tableau, with experience building production-grade dashboards and executive reporting (Required).
• Strong working knowledge of SQL and at least one analytics or scripting language (Python or SAS) for data manipulation, querying, and analysis (Required).
• Experience managing and mentoring offshore or dual-shore analytics teams, including workload planning, career development, and quality review (Required).
• Demonstrated ability to support business development activities, including contributions to RFP/RFI responses, capability decks, and client solutioning workshops (Preferred).
• Strong client management skills with experience owning stakeholder relationships and presenting complex analytical findings to both business and technical audiences (Required).
• Experience in financial services or insurance analytics with exposure to commercial & specialty lines products, pricing models, or portfolio profitability analytics (Strongly preferred).
• Solid understanding of data modeling, ETL/ELT processes, and cloud-based data platforms (Preferred).
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to translate complex data into clear business narratives and actionable insights (Required).
