Job summary

Lusaphops is seeking an experienced Data Analyst to turn complex operational and fleet data into actionable business insights. The role focuses on fleet utilisation, productivity, logistics, operational performance and project demand across mining operations in Africa, using data to identify efficiencies, reduce costs and support decision-making.

The ideal candidate will have 4–6 years in data analytics or BI, 3–5 years Power BI experience (DAX/Power Query/M), strong SQL skills and exposure to

Qualifications

• Degree in Data Analytics, Data Science, Computer Science, Information Systems, Statistics, Mathematics, Industrial Engineering or a related field.
• 4–6 years' experience in Data Analytics, Business Intelligence or a similar role.
• 3–5 years' hands-on Power BI experience, including DAX and Power Query/M.
• Strong practical SQL skills for extracting, manipulating and analysing relational data.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
• Experience working with operational, fleet, asset, production or logistics data.
• Experience with data modelling, data quality and dashboard development.
• Exposure to SAP and/or IBIS would be advantageous.
• Mining, manufacturing, logistics or other asset-intensive industry experience is highly advantageous.
• Exposure to Python, Generative AI or Machine Learning would be advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Extract, consolidate and analyse data from SAP, IBIS and other operational systems using SQL, Power Query and related tools.
• Develop and maintain Power BI dashboards, reports and data models that provide meaningful operational insights.
• Analyse fleet utilisation, productivity, logistics, costs and performance trends, identifying risks and optimisation opportunities.
• Translate complex data into clear, practical recommendations for operational and business stakeholders.
• Automate recurring reports and develop reliable, repeatable reporting processes.
• Monitor and improve data quality, accuracy and integrity, including identifying and resolving data gaps and inconsistencies.
• Conduct root-cause analysis on anomalies, operational trends and performance issues.
• Work with stakeholders to define and prioritise reporting and analytics requirements.
• Explore the practical application of Generative AI and Machine Learning to improve analytics and reporting while maintaining data governance and privacy standards.
