Job summary

S&P Global in Hyderabad seeks a data analyst to support end-to-end data lifecycle activities, including sourcing, validation, enrichment, and delivery under guidance. You will work within SOPs, learn industry concepts, and contribute to UAT and daily solutioning with a focus on quality and timeliness.

The role requires fresh graduates in Finance/Economics/Commerce, strong written and verbal communication, and willingness to work night shifts as needed.

Qualifications

  • Fresher (2025/2026 passouts) with Bachelor's/Master's in Finance, Economics, or Commerce.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication.
  • Willing to work in rotational night shifts as required by business needs.
  • Basic understanding of financial/market data concepts.

Responsibilities

  • Process and analyze financial documents from General/Limited Partners, including capital calls, distributions, financial statements, and investments schedules.
  • Access GP portals to download, categorize, and tag fund-related documents with metadata.
  • Extract, standardize, and validate data from Private Equity documents like Partners’ Capital Account statements and cash flow statements.
  • Identify accounting breakouts and classify data items for fund-level investments and portfolio companies.
  • Perform data quality checks and resolve exceptions via QC reviews and automated logs.
  • Conduct routine reporting and basic trend analysis to support analytics.
  • Support data cleansing initiatives to improve accuracy across datasets.
  • Assist process improvements and automation with basic SQL-driven tasks.
  • Maintain clear documentation of data collection and validation processes.
  • Collaborate with team to meet individual and group targets with quality focus.
  • Participate in ad-hoc projects aligned to business expansion and automation.

About the Role:

Role

The Data Analyst is an individual contributor role that develops foundational proficiency in one or more workflows or datasets. The role supports end-to-end data lifecycle activities including sourcing, basic validation, enrichment, and delivery under guidance, adhering strictly to standard operating procedures (SOPs) and set guidelines, and escalating deviations for a defined dataset or workflow. The role emphasizes building strong data literacy and operational discipline, learning industry concepts, and collaborating with other data research teams. Associates contribute to UAT and day-to-day solutioning, follow established standards, and participate in continuous process improvement and the adoption of technology and AI-enabled workflows.

Key Responsibilities
  • Process and analyze financial documents received from General/Limited Partners, including capital calls, distributions, financial statements, and schedules of investments.

  • Assist with process improvement, Lean initiatives, and automation efforts, including basic SQL-driven data tasks.

  • Maintain clear documentation of data collection and validation processes for auditability and future reference.

  • Collaborate with team members to deliver individual and team targets with a strong focus on quality, accuracy, and timeliness.

  • Participate in ad-hoc projects aligned to business expansion, data enhancement, or automation initiatives.

Basic Qualification
  • Fresher (2025/2026 passouts) - Bachelor's/Masters degree in Finance, Economics, Commerce.

  • Excellent in written & verbal communication

  • Willing to work in rotational shift (including night shift) basis the business requirement

  • Basic understanding of financial/market or domain data concepts relevant to the assigned dataset.

Technical Skills
  • Familiarity with structured/unstructured data formats (Excel, PDFs, filings, news, vendor feeds, etc).

  • Beginner knowledge of SQL/Excel for querying, filtering, and reconciling data.

  • Awareness of automation and GenAI tools; ability to follow prescribed usage patterns.

  • Exposure to data lifecycle concepts (source → ingest → validate → publish).

Functional Skills
  • Ability to perform data entry, tagging, and basic enrichment accurately.

  • Capability to read and interpret simple source materials (e.g., filings, vendor feeds, news).

  • Structured escalation of exceptions with appropriate evidence and context.

  • Ability to quickly learn and work with enterprise data capture tools, workflow systems, and ticketing platforms.
