Job summary

OSTTRA is seeking a Senior QA to drive automation for a Java/Spring Boot/React web app on AWS. You will own test automation across Web, API, and data layers, design scalable test frameworks, and contribute to development tasks alongside QA.

You will build regression suites, perform accessibility testing to WCAG standards, and collaborate with Devs in an Agile environment to ship quality software with speed.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of software testing and/or development with strong testing, coding, and debugging practices.
• Strong programming experience in Java (Java17+; Java 21 a plus).
• Hands-on testing REST/JSON APIs and event-driven microservices, including contract testing.
• Experience designing and building automated test frameworks.
• Experience testing applications backed by Redis, including data migration and cache validation.
• Working knowledge of AWS services — SQS, S3, SecretsManager/SSM Parameter Store.
• Experience with GitHub Actions-based CI/CD and container orchestration (EKS).
• Proficiency with Git in a multi-branch workflow; familiarity with Maven/JaCoCo/Checkstyle/PMD/SpotBugs.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities:

• Develop automation/performance scripts that meet organization standards and build reliable, reusable, and maintainable automated regression suites & test harness.

• Leverage tools and frameworks to build automation/performance scripts with quality code to simplify testing scenarios.

• Perform Accessibility testing and ensure your application meet WCAG standards.

• Design and develop test plans, test cases based upon functional and design specifications, execute test cases, and analyze and report test results to the teams.

• Work in partnership with the development teams to deliver business functionality on time with required quality that meets the acceptance criteria.

• Focus on building efficient solutions for Web, Services/APIs.

• Participate in internal/cross team meetings, project scoping, functional reviews, test specifications, technical reviews for assigned projects in an Agile environment.

• Participate actively in functional, system and regression testing activities.

• Capture quality assurance data and metrics to provide insights and conclusions.

• Estimate and perform risk analysis for quality delivery.

• Excellentproblem-solving, analytical,and technical troubleshooting skills.

• Bachelor's or higher degree in ComputerScience, Information Systems, or equivalent preferred.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience withSpring Boot / Spring Cloud (OpenFeign)applicationtesting, including OAuth2/JWT-secured endpoints(Okta).

• Exposuretoperformance testing(JMeter/Gatling) andresilience/chaos testing(retry,circuit-breaker,timeout validation).

• Knowledge ofSplunklog analysis andPrometheus/Micrometer/Open Telemetryobservability signals.

• Exposuretosecurity testing(APIsecurity, OWASP)and accessibility testing isa plus (UIis a separate front-end application).

• Exposure touser-journey/E2E testingacross microserviceboundaries is a plus.
