A leading IT services company in Chennai is seeking an experienced Automation Engineer to design and maintain automated test frameworks. The ideal candidate has a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science and strong skills in Cypress and programming languages like Java, JavaScript, TypeScript, or Python. Responsibilities include developing automated test scripts, implementing test cases for UI and API, and integrating automated tests into CI/CD pipelines. Experience in REST API automation and familiarity with Agile methodology is preferred.

Job Description

We are looking for an experienced Automation Engineer with strong expertise in Cypress and programming knowledge in JavaScript, TypeScript, or Python to design, develop, and maintain robust end-to-end automated test frameworks for web applications.

Required Skills

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
• Strong hands‑on experience in Cypress test automation.
• Overall 4-10 years of experience in IT and minimum of 3+ years of relevant experience in Cypress is must.
• Proficiency in one of the following languages – Java / Javascript / Typescript / Python.
• Experience with REST API automation using Cypress or other tools is good to have.
• Familiarity with Agile/Scrum development methodology.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop automated test scripts using Cypress.
• Implement test cases for UI, API, and regression testing.
• Collaborate with developers, QA, and product teams to identify test scenarios and ensure full coverage.
• Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, etc.).
• Debug, troubleshoot, and maintain existing automation frameworks.
• Participate in code reviews and ensure best practices in test automation.
• Prepare detailed test reports and track defects to closure.

Good to Have

• Knowledge of Playwright, Selenium, or API Automation.
• Knowledge in Insurance domain is good to have.
