Job description

Role & Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable test automation frameworks using Cypress and/or Playwright with JavaScript (Node.js).
• Develop and execute automated test scripts for web applications, APIs, and backend services.
• Create robust, reusable, and maintainable automation solutions following SDET best practices.
• Perform API testing and validation through code-based automation frameworks.
• Collaborate closely with developers, product owners, and QA teams to ensure high-quality software delivery.
• Integrate automated test suites into CI/CD pipelines and support continuous testing initiatives.
• Analyze test results, identify defects, perform root cause analysis, and work with development teams for resolution.
• Participate in Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, reviews, and retrospectives.
• Contribute to test strategy, automation architecture, and quality improvement initiatives.
• Maintain test environments, test data, and automation infrastructure.
• Support non-functional testing activities such as performance, reliability, and scalability testing where required.
• Ensure adherence to coding standards, version control practices, and quality processes.

Preferred Candidate Profile

• 58 years of experience in Test Automation / SDET roles.
• Strong hands-on experience with Cypress and/or Playwright using JavaScript (Node.js).
• Excellent programming skills in JavaScript and good knowledge of Java or Python.
• Proven experience in API automation testing using code-based frameworks.
• Strong understanding of software testing principles, test design techniques, and automation best practices.
• Experience with Git, version control systems, and CI/CD tools such as GitLab CI/CD.
• Working knowledge of Docker, YAML configuration files, and DevOps practices.
• Experience testing web-based applications in Agile development environments.
• Strong analytical, debugging, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to independently design automation solutions and contribute to framework development.
• Exposure to performance testing tools such as K6 or Sitespeed.io is an added advantage.
• Knowledge of IoT devices, networking concepts, and hardware-software integration will be a plus.
