Job summary

Skyroot Aerospace is seeking a Cyber Security Function Lead to drive the organization’s cybersecurity strategy, security operations, risk management, and incident response from its Hyderabad-based Max-Q facility close to Shamshabad airport.

You will lead governance, IAM, data security, and infrastructure security initiatives while coordinating with IT and Engineering teams to strengthen the company’s security posture in a high-impact technology environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in IT, Cyber Security, or a related field.
• 5–8+ years of cybersecurity experience.
• Certifications such as CISSP, CISM, CEH, Security+, Azure Security, or AWS Security preferred.
• Experience with ISO 27001, NIST, CIS Controls and security governance.

Responsibilities

• Define and implement the cybersecurity roadmap aligned with business objectives.
• Oversee SOC operations, monitoring, and incident response.
• Coordinate audits, risk assessments, and regulatory/commercial security compliance.
• Lead IAM, data security, encryption, and DLP controls.
• Collaborate with infrastructure and networking to secure cloud/hybrid environments.

We’re Hiring | Cyber Security Function Lead

Department: IT Operations – Cyber Security

Location: Max-Q (Shamshabad near Airport)

Reports To: Head of IT Operations

Experience: 5–8+ years

We are looking for an experienced Cyber Security Function Lead to drive the organization’s cybersecurity strategy, security operations, risk management, compliance, incident response, and continuous improvement of security controls.

Key Responsibilities

Cyber Security Strategy and Governance

• Define and implement the cybersecurity roadmap aligned with business objectives.
• Establish and maintain security policies, standards, and procedures.
• Ensure alignment with ISO 27001, NIST, and CIS Controls.
• Lead security governance, audits, and compliance activities.

Security Operations and Incident Response

• Oversee SOC operations, security monitoring, and alert management.
• Manage SIEM, EDR/XDR, DLP, syslog, and security monitoring tools.
• Lead incident response, containment, recovery, and root cause analysis.
• Maintain incident response plans and conduct periodic security drills.

Risk, Compliance and Vulnerability Management

• Identify, assess, and mitigate cybersecurity risks.
• Coordinate internal and external security audits.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory and contractual security requirements.
• Track vulnerabilities, emerging threats, and corrective actions.

Identity, Access and Data Security

• Govern Identity and Access Management processes.
• Ensure least-privilege access, MFA, and privileged access controls.
• Oversee data protection, encryption, and DLP controls.
• Review and approve administrative access based on business requirements.

Infrastructure, Network and Cloud Security

• Ensure secure design and implementation of network, cloud, and hybrid environments.
• Review firewall policies, VPN configurations, and network segmentation.
• Work closely with Infrastructure and Networking teams to address security gaps.

Team Leadership and Stakeholder Management

• Lead, mentor, and develop cybersecurity team members.
• Establish clear ownership, tracking, and reporting mechanisms.
• Collaborate with IT Administration, Networking, Infrastructure, and other stakeholders.
• Provide regular updates on security posture, risks, incidents, and improvements.
