Job summary

Tata Consultancy Services in Bengaluru seeks an experienced Network Security professional with 6–15 years of experience to lead firewall management, IPS/IDS and VPN activities. The role involves designing, implementing, and operating firewall setups, patching, and ensuring regulatory compliance.

The candidate will create SOPs, craft IPS rules, generate remediation reports, and coordinate with vendors for hardware replacements while maintaining perimeter security systems and incident response

Qualifications

• Technical expertise in network security with demonstrated expertise in firewall, IPS/IDS, web proxy, NAC or VPN.
• Proven experience in maintaining security solutions across enterprise environments.
• Provide compliance reports (monthly and on demand).
• Network security deployment and configuration.
• Device upgrade and patch management.
• Configuration and change management.
• Creation of SOPs for daily operations of network security tools and services.
• Creation and modification of custom IPS rules.
• Monitoring security advisory groups for updates and preventive measures.
• Support forensics activities and requirements.
• Good soft skills and multi-tasking abilities.

Responsibilities

• Provide day to day operational support for the Firewall Management Service.
• Responsible for the design, planning, implementation, and operation of firewall setups and management.
• Resolve operational incidents, manage firewall policies and rule sets, and ensure compliance with business and regulatory requirements.
• Expert level knowledge of fault management: identify, classify, investigate and resolve faults.
• Manage software patching for firewall patch management, testing and timely deployment.
• Knowledge of backup and restoration for configuration per policy.
• Create reports for remediation, change tracking and on-demand needs.
• Initial firewall/IPS testing of parameters, operation, support and commissioning.
• Analyze IPSec VPN implementations and manage VPN connectivity.
• Maintain and administer perimeter security systems such as firewalls and IDS.
• Support clients with firewall management questions including remediation procedures.
• Coordinate with 3rd party vendors for network hardware replacement and core debugging.
• Analyze, troubleshoot and resolve network problems.
• Adhere to change control/management processes.
• Track network security KPIs and reporting metrics.
• Certification in Fortigate, Palo Alto, or Check Point.

• Expert level knowledge of Fault Management like Identify and Classify Fault, Investigate and Diagnose Fault and Provide Fault resolution.
• Should have very good experience of software patch management to manage the Firewall patch management cycle, patch testing and deployment of patches on timely basis
• Candidate should have knowledge of backup and restoration for configuration as per defined backup and restoration policy
• Create various reports for remediation, change tracking and on demand basis.
• Initial firewall/IPS testing of parameters, operation, support and commissioning.
• Knowledge of Analysis of IPSec VPNs implementation and Manage and Monitor all VPN connectivity.
• Maintaining and administering perimeter security systems such as firewalls and intrusion detection systems
• Support client with Firewall Management related questions including those related to remediation procedures.
• Co-ordinate with 3rd party vendors for Network Hardware replacement Core level debugging.
• Analyzing, troubleshooting and correcting network problems.
• Adhere to change control/management process.
