Job description

The Credit Manager - Rajam will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the credit granting process, ensuring efficient credit assessment, risk mitigation, and timely collection strategies to support the company's financial health and growth in the Rajam region.

Job Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement credit policies and procedures in line with company objectives and regulatory requirements.
  • Conduct thorough financial analysis of potential and existing clients to assess creditworthiness and determine appropriate credit limits.
  • Manage and monitor the credit portfolio, identifying potential risks and implementing proactive mitigation strategies.
  • Oversee and optimize collection efforts, including developing and implementing collection strategies, negotiating payment plans, and managing overdue accounts.
  • Collaborate with sales, finance, and legal departments to ensure smooth credit operations and resolve complex credit-related issues.
  • Prepare and present credit reports and analysis to senior management, highlighting key trends, risks, and performance metrics.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant credit laws, regulations, and internal policies.
  • Lead and mentor a team of credit analysts and officers, fostering their professional development.
  • Stay updated on industry best practices and economic conditions impacting credit risk.
  • Handle customer inquiries and disputes related to credit and collections in a professional manner.
Job Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field. A Master's degree or professional certification (e.g., CPA, CFA) is a plus.
  • Minimum of 7-10 years of progressive experience in credit management, with at least 3-5 years in a leadership role.
  • Strong understanding of financial statements, credit analysis techniques, and risk assessment methodologies.
  • Proven track record of managing a credit portfolio and achieving collection targets.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Strong communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in credit management software and Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel).
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • In-depth knowledge of local credit laws and regulations specific to the Rajam region is highly desirable.
