Job summary

SMFG INDIA CREDIT COMPANY is seeking an experienced Mass LAP Underwriter to manage a multi-branch portfolio. You will underwrite, verify, and sanction proposals within your authority, while supervising staff and ensuring compliant processing.

The role requires strong credit, financial and legal analysis with ongoing MIS monitoring and timely reporting on portfolio performance and delinquencies. NBFC underwriting experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Minimum 8 years in Mass LAP Underwriting Experience post qualification.
• NBFC underwriting experience would be preferred.
• CA / MBA Finance qualification required.

Responsibilities

• Underwrite Mass LAP loans and build/maintain a portfolio per credit policy across multiple branches.
• Supervise staff in day-to-day performance and ensure adherence to login, processing and disbursement procedures.
• Review applications with credit verifications, financial, technical and legal analysis and sanction proposals within authority.
• Recommend proposals to seniors/committee after underwriting and analysis.
• Monitor MIS for portfolio performance and report to management daily.
• Track portfolio delinquencies, losses, and fraud monthly and provide early warning signals.

Role & responsibilities

• To underwrite, build and maintain a portfolio of Mass LAP Loan products as per credit policy. To manage multiple branches.
• Manages subordinate staff in day-to-day performance of their jobs.
• Responsible for overall supervision activities like login, processing, disbursement etc.
• Vendor management and manage all types of training regarding credit, policy and products.
• To review applications with credit verifications, financial, technical and legal analysis and sanctioned proposal within given authority limit
• To underwrite, analysis and recommended proposals to seniors / committee
• To review and closely monitor all MIS regarding portfolio and reporting to management on daily basis.
• Monitoring of portfolio every month with respect to delinquency / losses / fraud for the period underwritten
• Gives Early warning inputs regularly through market, industry and customer level feedback in order to avoid surprise delinquencies.
• Ensure collection of PDD diligently and provides for safe deposit of the same.
