Job summary

Our client, a leading international automation company, seeks a Country MD to oversee the India operation, including sales, projects, after-sales, warehouse and support functions. You will drive growth while ensuring tight control of costs and capital, reporting to headquarters.

Responsibilities include defining KPIs, managing procurement and inventory, and leading a leadership team across Mumbai, Delhi and Chennai to deliver profitability and strategic objectives.

Qualifications

• At least 15 years of experience in industrial automation, intralogistics or related capital equipment sector.
• A minimum of 3 years with full P&L responsibility, ideally within an international company.
• Solid operational background with hands-on cost control, procurement and supply chain or warehouse management.
• Strong KPI-driven management style with clear targets, tracking performance closely and acting quickly on results.
• Regular use of CRM (Salesforce) and ERP (SAP).

Responsibilities

• Take full responsibility for the Indian entity, including P&L, budget, cash and working capital.
• Define and monitor KPIs across sales, projects, after-sales and warehouse operations, and run regular performance reviews with the management team.
• Establish rigorous cost control across all functions and ensure the business operates efficiently and profitably.
• Oversee procurement and supplier management, including local sourcing, imports and negotiation of key contracts.
• Manage warehouse operations, inventory levels and logistics, ensuring cost efficiency and on-time availability for projects and service.
• Lead the commercial strategy in India and maintain relationships with key customers.
• Manage and develop the local leadership team across Mumbai, Delhi and Chennai, including finance, HR and administration.
• Ensure compliance with group policies, internal controls and local regulations, and act as the main point of contact with headquarters.
