Responsibilities

  • Provide individual and group counseling sessions to students to address issues, including academic difficulties, personal problems, social conflicts, and emotional distress.
  • Assess students’ needs and develop personalized counseling plans to help them overcome challenges and make informed decisions.
  • Advocate for students’ well-being and academic success by collaborating with teachers, administrators, and parents.
  • Serve as a resource for students, families, and staff on mental health and social-emotional development.
  • Facilitate classroom presentations and discussions on mental health and wellness topics to promote awareness and resilience.
  • Collaborate with school staff to implement school-wide initiatives for a positive and inclusive culture.
  • Conduct assessments and screenings to identify students who may benefit from counseling or additional support.
  • Monitor and evaluate student progress in counseling sessions and adjust interventions as needed.
  • Maintain confidential records of counseling sessions, assessments, and interventions.

Job Information

Core Responsibilities
  • Provide individual and group counseling sessions to students to address a variety of issues, including academic difficulties, personal problems, social conflicts, and emotional distress.
  • Assess students’ needs and develop personalized counseling plans to help them overcome challenges, set goals, and make informed decisions. Advocate for students’ well‑being and academic success by collaborating with teachers, administrators, and parents to identify and address student needs and concerns.
  • Serve as a resource for students, families, and staff on issues related to mental health, social‑emotional development, and community resources.
  • Facilitate classroom presentations and discussions on relevant mental health and wellness topics to promote awareness and resilience among students.
  • Collaborate with school staff to implement school‑wide initiatives aimed at creating a positive and inclusive school culture.
  • Conduct assessments and screenings to identify students who may benefit from counseling services or additional support.
  • Monitor and evaluate student progress in counseling sessions, adjusting intervention strategies as needed to promote positive outcomes.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential records of counseling sessions, assessments, and interventions in accordance with ethical and legal standards.
  • Collaborate with school and community resources to develop crisis response plans, train staff in crisis intervention techniques, and provide post‑crisis support to students and staff.
