Akamai in Bengaluru invites a qualified Counsel to join our Global Legal team. You will draft, review, and negotiate English commercial contracts, advise Sales, Finance, Tax, Compliance and Product teams on legal risks, and ensure policy compliance across our global business.

Bring 3+ years of experience in tech or telecom, strong negotiation and advisory skills, and fluency in English to help Akamai navigate complex agreements and protect our customers and company interests.

Qualifications

• Holder of a law degree from an accredited institution.

Akamai Legal is a global team of experienced professionals advancing business interests and supporting the company's next phase of growth. The team protects Akamai's assets and reputation while navigating rapid innovation and evolving legal landscapes. Comprising approximately 70 professionals worldwide, the team's role reports to the regional Legal Commercial Lead based in Singapore.

You will work with our Legal and Sales teams and become a trusted advisor to internal stakeholders across the business.

As a Counsel, you will be responsible for:

• Drafting, reviewing, and negotiating English commercial contracts and documents with Akamai's global customers and partners, supporting commercial teams worldwide.
• Advising cross-functional teams across Sales, Finance, Tax, Compliance, Information Security, and Product Management on legal risks in commercial sales contracts.
• Ensuring compliance with and consistent application of Akamai's legal and business policies and practices.
• Participating in efforts to enhance the legal department's overall performance

Do what you love

To be successful in this role you will:

• Hold a law degree from an accredited institution, be licensed in a relevant jurisdiction, and maintain good standing as an attorney.
• Bring 3+ years of legal experience supporting Sales teams in private practice or in-house, ideally with technology or telecommunications clients.
• Demonstrate excellent project and time management, sound business judgment, effective prioritization, and reliable follow-through in dynamic, multi-project environments.
• Demonstrate a solid understanding of commercial law, intellectual property rights, and privacy and data protection;
• Communicate fluently in English, draft contracts clearly and concisely, and conduct legal negotiations by phone or video.
• Possess excellent organizational and interpersonal skills.
