Job summary

Tata Consulting Engineers seeks a Project Controls professional to establish and manage the execution plan, schedules, and cost controls for complex engineering projects in India. The incumbent will define controls procedures, align WBS/CBS, and ensure integrated data across disciplines.

The role requires strong analytical skills, proficiency with Primavera P6 and MS Project, and a focus on timely, accurate reporting to leadership and clients.

Qualifications

• Bachelors degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or equivalent.
• PMP certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Establish and implement the project controls execution plan aligned with project objectives and execution strategy.
• Define project control procedures, systems, tools, and reporting frameworks.
• Develop and align Work Breakdown Structure (WBS), Cost Breakdown Structure (CBS), and coding structures.
• Ensure integration of schedule, cost, and progress data across project disciplines.
• Develop and maintain integrated project schedules (engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning).
• Establish baseline schedules and manage updates and revisions.
• Monitor progress, identify delays, and support recovery planning.
• Coordinate with engineering disciplines to validate progress, quantities, and deliverables.
• Interface with procurement on commitments, delivery schedules, and cost status.
• Support construction management with productivity tracking and performance analysis.
• Ensure alignment between site and homeoffice reporting.
• Maintain transparent, auditable project controls records.
• Capture lessons learned and drive continuous improvement.

Project Controls Strategy & Planning

• Define project control procedures, systems, tools, and reporting frameworks.

Schedule Management

• Develop and maintain integrated project schedules (engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning).
• Establish baseline schedules and manage updates and revisions.

Progress Measurement & Reporting

• Establish progress measurement methodologies for engineering, procurement, and construction.
• Consolidate physical progress, earned value, and performance metrics.
• Prepare periodic management and client reports, dashboards, and KPIs.
• Provide accurate and timely performance insights to project leadership.

Interface with Engineering, Procurement & Construction

• Coordinate with engineering disciplines to validate progress, quantities, and deliverables.
• Interface with procurement on commitments, delivery schedules, and cost status.
• Support construction management with productivity tracking and performance analysis.
• Ensure alignment between site and homeoffice reporting.
