Job summary

Tata Projects is seeking a seasoned Cost Controller to lead project cost control efforts across large-scale EPC, Petrochemical, and Infrastructure initiatives. You will develop baselines, cash flows, and cost tracking systems while ensuring alignment with budgets and financial targets.

The role requires 10–15 years of cost control and project controls experience in engineering-driven industries. Strong EVA capabilities and cost reporting skills are essential for timely decision-making.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related discipline.
• 10–15 years of experience in Cost Control/Project Controls/ Commercial Projects or Project Finance.
• Experience in Oil & Gas, EPC, Petrochemical, Energy, Infrastructure, or Industrial Projects.

Role & responsibilities

• Lead project cost control activities to ensure projects are delivered within approved budgets and financial targets.
• Develop project cost baselines, cash flow forecasts, and cost tracking systems throughout the project lifecycle.
• Monitor actual costs against budgets, identify variances, and recommend corrective actions to mitigate financial risks.
• Prepare and maintain project cost reports, forecasts, and management dashboards for timely decision-making.
• Coordinate with project, procurement, contracts, and finance teams to ensure accurate cost allocation and reporting.
• Track commitments, accruals, change orders, and project expenditures to maintain cost visibility and control.
• Support project budgeting, estimate reviews, and bid preparation activities from a cost management perspective.
• Perform earned value analysis (EVA) and cost performance assessments to evaluate project health and forecast outcomes.
• Identify potential cost overruns and develop mitigation plans to improve project profitability and financial performance.
• Support contract administration, claims, variations, and change management activities by assessing cost impacts.
• Ensure compliance with company project controls procedures, financial policies, and reporting standards.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance cost control processes, systems, and reporting accuracy.

Preferred candidate profile

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Civil, Electrical, Chemical, or related discipline).
• 10-15 years of experience in Cost Control, Project Controls, Commercial Projects, or Project Finance within Oil & Gas, EPC, Petrochemical, Energy, Infrastructure, or Industrial Projects.
• Proven experience managing cost control functions for medium to large-scale EPC projects.
• Strong exposure to project budgeting, forecasting, earned value management, and project financial reporting.
