Job summary

PwC in Kolkata seeks a Senior Associate for the Restructuring and Insolvency (R&I) team. You will review financial and operational performance, support advisory work for corporates and lenders, and contribute to financial modelling and contingency planning.

You will assist with insolvency proceedings, including administrations, liquidations, CVAs, and restructuring plans, while coordinating with PwC colleagues to deliver services. A strong CA/ACCA/ACA background and solid Excel skills are valued.

Qualifications

  • Qualified accountant with CA/ACA/ACCA preferred.

Restructuring and Insolvency Senior Associate

Who we are and what we do The Restructuring & Insolvency (R&I) Team is a fast growing business unit providing advisory and executory restructuring services to a range of clients, including banks, corporates and other stakeholders. As part of the largest and most-experienced Restructuring services business in the UK, we are at the heart of PwCs purpose to build trust in society and solve important problems. We provide support and guidance to our clients in troubled financial situations to help them overcome complex, financial, operational and strategic challenges at pace. Being part of the R&I team provides a unique opportunity to gain experience across both advisory and executory restructuring service offerings:

Corporate restructuring advisory

- we provide hands‑on support to our clients, helping them to consider and develop solutions for navigating through challenges facing their business. These projects include independent business reviews (IBRs), strategic reviews, cash flow forecasting, options assessments for the organization or its stakeholders, stakeholder management, and/or financial restructuring.

Executory restructuring

- we advise on restructuring solutions and how insolvency processes can be used to maximize outcomes for all stakeholders. Our work includes all aspects of pre‑insolvency advice and options assessment, contingency planning, or executing administration, liquidations (solvent and insolvent) and other rescue mechanisms (CVA / Scheme of Arrangement / Restructuring Plans). Responsibilities

How we work The team operates alongside other R&I teams across the UK. As a team, we work flexibly from our offices across the UK and, where required, from client sites or other PwC offices. We work collaboratively with our Deals and wider PwC colleagues to deliver a full suite of services to meet our clients needs in all varieties of circumstances, with the PwC values at the core of what we do. It provides a great opportunity and platform for all members of the team to work on the cutting edge of the latest technology, and within Deals there is encouragement to try different things, collaborate with colleagues from different specialties and different teams to come up with innovative solutions for clients.

The role you will undertake

As a Senior Associate, you'll work as part of the team, helping to solve complex business issues. Skills and responsibilities necessary for this role include but are not limited to:

Reviewing financial and operational performance, identifying key issues for clients and stakeholders. Supporting senior team members in advising corporates, lenders, sponsors and funds on restructuring and turnaround options. Conducting cash flow and financial modelling, assessing long‑term viability and contingency planning.

Preparing reports and presentations for boards, lenders, investors, and other stakeholders. Assisting Insolvency Practitioners with formal appointments (e.g. administrations, liquidations, CVAs, restructuring plans), including managing trading businesses during insolvency.

Using technology and digital tools to deliver analysis efficiently and explore innovative solutions.

Participating in business development activities such as networking with potential clients and intermediaries. Contributing to the development of more junior team members through coaching and knowledge sharing. The following skills are relevant for this role:
