Job summary

Ernst & Young in Bengaluru is seeking an Associate Manager for Restructuring with 5–7 years of post-qualification experience. The role focuses on financial restructuring, performance improvement and distressed M&A within EY’s Restructuring team.

You will lead projects, analyze financial data, assess liquidity, and develop insights for clients. The opportunity includes mentoring, broad engagement exposure, and learning & development in a global advisory environment.

Qualifications

• Experience in restructuring services, performance improvement or insolvency preferred.
• Ability to analyze financial statements and identify key trends.

Within EY-P, the Restructuring services helps clients deal with different forms of threats including economic change, competitor innovation, capital constraints, operational challenges, etc.

The EY global network of restructuring professionals, along with our transaction and sector professionals, have experience with some of the largest and most complex in and out-of-court restructuring situations. We work with a variety of stakeholders to provide leadership and actionable advice to identify financial and operational strategies to generate liquidity, improve earnings and extract value across underperforming, stressed and distressed businesses.

We are looking for Associate Manager with expertise in financial restructuring services, performance improvement, insolvency and bankruptcy, distressed M&A etc. to join Restructuring team. Your key responsibilities

• Drive and manage restructuring projects, ensuring strategic execution and high-quality outcomes.
• Conduct in-depth analysis of financial statements and operational performance to identify key trends and insights.
• Assess financial information and contribute to preparing EY’s perspective on stated financial data for stakeholders.
• Identify liquidity issues and areas of distress, identifying opportunity areas for working capital improvements, preparation/ review of cash flow projection models, business plans etc.
• Understand revenue and cost drivers and suggest performance improvement measures
• Perform qualitative and quantitative research on the markets and/or target companies
• Synthesize findings into clear, concise reports and presentations for internal and client use.
• Measure, monitor and improve client service by guiding team members and driving excellence in service delivery

Skills and attributes for success

• Transaction environment: candidates with hands on experience of restructuring services, transactional/deal understanding, performance improvement, distressed M&A, insolvency and bankruptcy with aptitude for quantitative and qualitative analysis will be preferred
• Excellent understanding of company, industry, economic research, financial statements
• Experience of working with clients in global landscape
• Ability to determine risks and opportunity areas, assess findings and communicate insights
• Proven experience in interacting with senior management of clients
• Excellent problem solving, project management, facilitation skills
• Excellent people management and interpersonal skills
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with experience in developing final presentations

To qualify for the role, you must have

• Chartered Accountancy/ MBA in Finance from a premiere institute
• 5-7 years of PQE in:
  • Financial Diligence or Independent Business Review, preferably Big 4
  • Management Consultancy firms, preferably Big 4
  • Large Indian corporates with exposure in restructuring activities, analytics, financial modelling and corporate finance role
