Job summary

Suzlon Group is seeking an experienced Core Shop Supervisor to oversee the manufacturing and assembly of stator and rotor cores for large motors. The role requires hands-on experience with core building, welding, balancing, machine operations, and strict adherence to safety and quality standards.

You will supervise shop-floor activities, coordinate with Production/Quality/Maintenance/Engineering, and drive improvements to meet schedules and targets in a heavy engineering setting.

Qualifications

• Diploma or ITI in Mechanical Engineering required.
• Minimum 18 years of experience in motor manufacturing or heavy engineering industries.
• Hands-on exposure to stator and rotor core manufacturing processes.
• Experience in core stacking, welding, balancing, machining and assembly.

Responsibilities

• Supervise day-to-day operations of the Core Shop involved in stator and rotor core manufacturing.
• Monitor and control core building, stacking, welding, balancing, and assembly activities.
• Ensure proper use of measuring instruments and inspection tools during manufacturing.
• Oversee machine operations including VTL and other core manufacturing equipment.
• Manage shaft and rotor balancing activities to meet quality requirements.
• Supervise hydraulic press and heating oven operations used in core manufacturing.
• Ensure adherence to manufacturing drawings, process sheets, and quality standards.
• Coordinate with Production, Quality, Maintenance, and Engineering teams for smooth workflow.
• Monitor manpower utilization, productivity, and shop-floor discipline.
• Ensure compliance with EHS standards.
• Train and guide operators and technicians on best manufacturing practices.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance productivity and reduce rework.

Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced Core Shop Supervisor to oversee the manufacturing and assembly of stator and rotor cores for large-sized motors. The candidate should possess strong knowledge of motor manufacturing processes, core building, welding, balancing, machine operations, and quality control. The role involves supervising shop-floor activities, ensuring adherence to production schedules, maintaining safety standards, and coordinating with cross-functional teams to achieve manufacturing targets.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise day-to-day operations of the Core Shop involved in stator and rotor core manufacturing.
• Monitor and control core building, stacking, welding, balancing, and assembly activities.
• Ensure proper use of measuring instruments and inspection tools during manufacturing.
• Oversee machine operations including VTL (Vertical Turret Lathe) and other core manufacturing equipment.
• Manage shaft and rotor balancing activities to meet quality requirements.
• Supervise hydraulic press and heating oven operations used in core manufacturing.
• Ensure adherence to manufacturing drawings, process sheets, and quality standards.
• Coordinate with Production, Quality, Maintenance, and Engineering teams for smooth workflow.
• Monitor manpower utilization, productivity, and shop-floor discipline.
• Ensure compliance with EHS (Environment, Health & Safety) standards.
• Train and guide operators and technicians on best manufacturing practices.

Qualification(Minimum)

• Diploma / ITI in Mechanical Engineering.

Experience Required

• 18 years of experience in motor manufacturing or heavy engineering industries.
• Hands-on exposure to stator and rotor core manufacturing processes.
• Experience in core stacking, welding, balancing, machining, and assembly activities.
• Experience in handling shop-floor manpower and production planning.
