Job summary

Whirlpool India is seeking an engineer to design and develop cooling subsystems for refrigeration platforms. The role involves collaborating with quality, manufacturing, supply chain and SES teams to ensure products meet specifications and regulatory requirements.

You will apply heat transfer, thermodynamics and sealed system concepts, while guiding DFMEA/PFMEA activities and design reviews with regional and global stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Post graduate in Mechanical/Thermal engineering.
• 1-3 yrs relevant experience in Refrigeration cooling system.

Responsibilities

The team you will be a part of:

The Engineering team discovers, develops and evaluates new product ideas, enhancements, or strategic product extensions, and translates research discoveries into usable and marketable products. Leads, plans and tracks all phases of the product life cycle, from inception to introduction into the marketplace. Coordinates with various functions to ensure successful product development and implementation.

This role in summary:

Key Stakeholders :

• Simulation Teams
• Platform System Integrators, Day to day engineers
• Validations and verification engineers , testing engineers
• Local/Global cross functional teams (Quality, GSS, Manufacturing, Supply chain etc)

Purpose:

• Design & Development of Cooling subsystem for Refrigeration Platforms
• Collaboration with various functions to design & execute the cooling projects (Quality, GSS, Manufacturing, Supply chain, Suppliers etc)
• Collaboration with SES functions to ensure Software parameters of refrigerators meets products requirements (Compressor,Fan, Dampers etc)

Your responsibilities will include:

• Strong technical knowledge in the area of Refrigeration, Heat Transfer, Thermodynamics and basic engineering fundamentals
• Having good knowledge on heat load, thermodynamics, heat transfer, fl uid mechanics & performance testing.
• Must understand the product (Refrigerator), its functionality & product development process thoroughly
• Design & development of sealed system components, Knowledge on DFMEA, PFMEA and Root cause analysis required.
• Work closely with regional and global stakeholders in design reviews and technical forums.
• Shall have skill in selecting critical components like Compressor, Condenser, Fan Motor to achieve required cooling performance & regulation requirements
• Ability to troubleshoot both at design level and at fi eld in the event of any failures in the product
• Able to identify/simulate changes in software parameters on product level
• Work with SES team to provide inputs on software/hardware changes to meet product specifications

Minimum requirements:

EDUCATIONAL:Post graduate in Mechanical/Thermal engineering.
EXPERIENCE:1 -3 yrs relevant experience in Refrigeration cooling system

Technical skills:

• Strong communication skills, leading the Cost, quality, regulation change projects
• Experienced in strategic planning and deployment
• Systematic problem solving approach.
• Airflow optimization , sealed system design & development skills
