Job summary

iPAC Automation Pvt Ltd in Pune district, India, seeks a control system engineer to prepare C&E matrices, logic diagrams, control narratives, and DDS/FDS documents for DCS/PLC/SCADA projects. You will coordinate FAT/SAT with clients and third parties, review P&IDs, and ensure documentation aligns with project requirements.

You will engage across Honeywell DCS/PLC, Rockwell PLC and Siemens PLC platforms, supporting design reviews and site execution while maintaining strict documentation

Responsibilities

• Prepare Cause & Effect (C&E) Matrix covering process interlocks, trips and control logic.
• Prepare Logic Diagrams representing control philosophy, interlocks and sequence logic.
• Prepare Control Narrative describing system operation, control philosophy, interlocks and alarm/trip conditions.
• Prepare DDS detailing hardware and software architecture of the control system.
• Prepare FDS capturing functional requirements of the DCS/PLC/SCADA system.
• Execute FAT procedures and coordinate FAT with clients and third-party inspection agencies.
• Execute SAT procedures during commissioning.
• Prepare System Architecture drawings covering network topology, redundancy and I/O distribution.
• Engage in engineering, configuration and documentation on Honeywell DCS/PLC, Rockwell PLC and Siemens PLC platforms.
• Review P&IDs, Instrument Index and I/O List for alignment with process requirements.
• Coordinate with clients and internal teams for design review, query resolution and approvals.
• Liaise with panel design, procurement and site teams to support execution.
• Ensure all deliverables comply with project schedules, client specifications and standards.

Role & responsibilities

Preparation of Cause & Effect (C&E) Matrix covering process interlocks, trips and control logic.

• Preparation of Logic Diagrams representing control philosophy, interlocks and sequence logic.

Preparation of Control Narrative describing system operation, control philosophy, interlocks and alarm/trip conditions.

• Preparation of Detail Design Specification (DDS) covering hardware and software architecture of the control system.
• Preparation of Functional Design Specification (FDS) capturing the functional requirements of the DCS/PLC/SCADA system.
• Preparation and execution of Factory Acceptance Test (FAT) procedures, and coordination of FAT with clients and third-party inspection agencies.
• Preparation and execution of Site Acceptance Test (SAT) procedures during commissioning.
• Preparation of System Architecture drawings covering network topology, redundancy philosophy and I/O distribution.

Engineering, configuration and documentation on Honeywell DCS/PLC, Rockwell PLC and Siemens PLC platforms as per project and client requirement.

• Review of P&IDs, Instrument Index and I/O List to ensure control system documentation is aligned with process requirements.
• Coordination with clients and internal teams for design review, query resolution and approval of engineering documents.
• Liaising with panel design, procurement and site teams to ensure documentation supports smooth execution.
• Ensuring all deliverables comply with project schedules, client specifications and applicable engineering standards.

REQUIRED SKILLS & COMPETENCIES

Strong working knowledge of control system engineering documentation: C&E, Logic Diagrams, Control Narrative, DDS, FDS, System Architecture.

Hands-on platform experience on at least one of the following, with willingness to work across others per project need: Honeywell DCS/PLC (Experion PKS, C300, ControlEdge), Rockwell PLC (ControlLogix/CompactLogix, Studio 5000 / RSLogix), Siemens PLC (S7-300/400/1500, TIA Portal / Step 7).

Good understanding of P&ID, Instrument Index, I/O List and process control philosophy.

Ability to independently prepare and review FAT and SAT procedures and support their execution with clients.

Exposure to SCADA/HMI configuration and redundancy/network architecture concepts.

Familiarity with relevant industry and client engineering standards and specifications.

Strong documentation discipline, attention to detail and ability to manage multiple project deliverables in parallel.

Good communication skills for client interaction, design review meetings and cross-functional coordination.
