Job summary

Lactalis India is seeking a legal professional to manage contracts from drafting to execution, ensuring compliance and risk control across functions in Chennai.

You will draft, review, and negotiate commercial agreements, drive contract lifecycle management, track obligations, and partner with Procurement, Sales, Finance, HR, and Operations to enable timely business decisions while upholding company policy.

Qualifications

• LL.B. degree; LL.M. preferred.
• 4–6 years of experience in commercial contract management.
• Strong understanding of Indian contract law.
• Experience in drafting and negotiating commercial agreements.
• Exposure to CLM tools is an advantage.
• Good working knowledge of MS Office and AI tools.

Key Responsibilities

Contract Management

• Draft, review, negotiate, and finalize contracts.
• Support commercial agreements across business functions.

Contract Lifecycle Management

• Coordinate internal approvals and contract execution.

Repository & Reporting

• Generate contract-related reports and dashboards.

Business Partnering

• Work closely with Procurement, Sales, Marketing, Finance, HR, Supply Chain, and Operations teams.
• Provide practical legal support on contract-related matters
• Escalate complex legal issues when required.

Compliance & Risk Management

• Ensure contracts comply with applicable laws and company policies.
• Support resolution of contract disputes, claims, and notices.
• Advise on risk mitigation measures

Process Improvement

• Improve contract templates, workflows, and approval processes.
• Support legal technology and automation initiatives.
