Job summary

PeopleStrong is seeking a contracts-focused professional in India to draft, review, and negotiate contracts and subcontracts that protect the company’s interests and ensure regulatory compliance. The role oversees contract administration through the project lifecycle and ensures all parties meet obligations.

The candidate will identify, prepare, and submit claims with thorough documentation, assess subcontractor claims, and negotiate settlements to minimize risk and cost.

Responsibilities

  • To be able to draft, review, and negotiate contracts and subcontracts that protect the company’s interests and ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.
  • To be able to manage contract administration throughout the project lifecycle, ensuring all parties meet their contractual obligations.
  • To be able to identify, prepare, and submit claims related to delays, changes, disruptions, or cost overruns, supported by thorough documentation and analysis.
  • To be able to assess and respond to claims submitted by subcontractors or third parties, preparing defenses or rebuttals as necessary.
  • To be able to negotiate settlements of claims and disputes effectively, aiming for resolution while minimizing risk and cost to the company.
  • To be able to coordinate with legal advisors and project teams to avoid disputes or to manage dispute resolution through negotiation, mediation, arbitration, or litigation if needed.
  • To be able to communicate clearly and professionally with clients, contractors, legal teams, and internal stakeholders on contractual matters and claim statuses.
  • To be able to maintain accurate and organized records of all contractual documents, correspondence, notices, and claim-related information.
  • To be able to issue timely contractual notices (such as delay or change notices) in accordance with contract terms.
  • To be able to collaborate with commercial, finance, and project control teams to assess the financial impact of claims, changes, and contractual risks.
  • To be able to lead and mentor a team of contract administrators or claims specialists, providing training and guidance on best practices in contract and claims management.
  • To be able to stay updated on relevant contract laws, industry standards, and best practices to ensure continuous compliance and effective contract management.
