Job summary

Deloitte India is seeking a Workday Consultant to support and optimize the HCM system. You will handle configuration, integrations, and production maintenance under guidance from senior teammates.

Ideal candidates have 2–5 years of Workday Core HCM experience in AMS/Operate, familiarity with EIB, CCW, and security configurations, and strong stakeholder communication skills. This role is based in Bengaluru with a focus on on-site delivery.

The Team

The Deloitte Workday team provides the full range of services for clients from the initial planning stages, through full system implementation to on-going support. The Deloitte Workday team are not purely system implementors as the service goes beyond to ensure our clients get the most benefit from their Workday solution. For the Workday team, this means not just fixing issues but providing advisory and guidance on ways to optimize and enhance the Workday experience.

As a Workday Consultant, you will play a crucial role in supporting the technical aspects of the Workday Human Capital Management (HCM) system. Under the guidance of senior team members, you will be responsible for assisting in technical configurations, integrations, and system maintenance to ensure optimal performance

Key Responsibilities

1. Core HCM Production Support & Case Management:

• Provide L2/L3 support for Workday Core HCM by resolving production incidents and service requests within defined SLA timelines.
• Analyze and troubleshoot issues related to Worker Data, Supervisory Organizations, Staffing Models, Positions, Job Profiles, Locations, Organizations, and Worker Lifecycle events.
• Support business users by resolving issues related to Hire, Rehire, Change Job, Transfer, Promotion, Termination, Rescind, Contract Contingent Worker, and organizational changes.
• Perform root cause analysis (RCA) for recurring production issues and recommend long-term corrective actions.

2. Core HCM Configuration & Functional Enhancements:

• Configure and maintain Supervisory Organizations, Company, Cost Center, Location, Job Family, Job Profile, Position Management, Staffing Models, and Organization Assignments.
• Implement approved enhancement requests by configuring Business Process Framework (BPF), condition rules, validation rules, notifications, approvals, and To-Do steps.
• Configure and maintain Workday Inbox, Business Process Security Policies, Domain Security Policies, and Role-Based Security assignments.
• Support mass organizational changes and worker data updates using Enterprise Interface Builder (EIB).

3. Data Management, Audits & Release Support:

• Validate Worker data, organizational data, and configuration changes before production deployment.
• Support Workday bi-annual releases by conducting impact analysis, regression testing, smoke testing, and business validation.
• Perform tenant comparison, support tenant migration activities, and validate production deployment.
• Support audit requests by providing worker data validation, security reviews, and configuration documentation.

4. Cross-Functional Support & Operational Governance:

• Collaborate with Payroll, Benefits, Compensation, Absence, Time Tracking, Recruiting, Security, Reporting, and Integration teams to resolve cross-functional production issues.
• Validate downstream integrations impacted by Core HCM configuration changes.
• Coordinate with Integration teams for Enterprise Interface Builder (EIB), Core Connector: Worker (CCW), and inbound/outbound interface validations.
• Maintain configuration workbooks, SOPs, knowledge articles, release documentation, and change records following ITIL processes.

5. Client Relationship & Continuous Improvement:

• Participate in AMS governance calls, incident reviews, backlog grooming, and enhancement planning sessions.
• Communicate issue status, risks, and resolution plans with business stakeholders.
• Identify opportunities to optimize business processes, simplify approvals, improve data quality, and reduce manual effort.
• Mentor junior consultants and contribute reusable configuration assets, accelerators, and knowledge repositories.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Information Technology, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field.
• 2–5 years of Workday Core HCM experience in an AMS/Operate environment.
• Hands-on experience configuring Supervisory Organizations, Staffing Models, Job Profiles, Positions, Locations, Companies, Cost Centers, Worker Lifecycle, Business Process Framework (BPF), Domain Security Policies, and Role-Based Security.
• Experience with Enterprise Interface Builder (EIB), Workday releases, tenant migration, regression testing, and data validation.

Desired Skills

• Strong knowledge of Worker Lifecycle Events and Organizational Structures.
• Experience with Business Process configuration, Condition Rules, Validation Rules, Notifications, To-Do Steps, and Approval Chains.
• Understanding of Workday Security Framework, Domain Security, and Security Groups.
• Experience supporting EIB, Core Connector: Worker (CCW), Reports-as-a-Service (RaaS), and downstream integration validation.
• Familiarity with ITIL, Incident Management, Problem Management, Change Management, Agile, Azure DevOps/Jira, and SLA-based AMS support.
• Strong analytical, client-facing, documentation, and stakeholder management skills.
