Job summary

Ampath Trust in Hyderabad seeks an experienced Laboratory Quality Manager to ensure ISO 15189:2012 compliance, oversee the Quality Management System for medical laboratory services, and provide expert support on test selection, interpretation, and regulatory adherence.

You will coordinate with the laboratory director and HOD, monitor QC, conduct staff training, develop SOPs, participate in EQA, and ensure timely, accurate reporting for patient care.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Define, implement and monitor standards of the established QMS of the medical laboratory services.
• Monitor the work in sections to determine that reliable test results are generated.
• Provide 24 hours call coverage for emergency consultations.
• Plan and work with pathology staff, residents or visiting pathologists.
• Review Quality indicators and daily QC.
• Ensure EQA participation and analyze EQAS/ILC performance.
• Release departmental lab reports within established turnaround times.
• Ensure urgent and provisional reports are released per Ampath protocols.
• Implement safe laboratory environment in compliance with GLP and regulations.
• Train technical staff and maintain high staff morale; conduct competency evaluations.
• Prepare and implement department SOPs and maintain quality management system policies.
• Provide educational programmes for staff and participate in institution education.

• Following and implementation of ISO 15189:2012 requirements.
• Provide effective and efficient administration of the medical laboratory
  services.
• Provide advice to those requesting information about the choice of tests and the use of the laboratory services and the interpretation of laboratory data.
• Serve as an active member of the medical staff for the facilities served.
• Relate and function effectively with applicable accrediting and regulatory agencies, top management, the health care community, and the patient population served.

• Ensures the release of urgent lab reports / provisional reports in best interest of patient care, as per established protocols of Ampath.
• Implement a safe laboratory environment in compliance with good laboratory practices and applicable regulations.
• Address any complaint request or suggestion from users of laboratory services.
• Training the technical staff & maintaining a high staff morale. Performing staff competency evaluations as per Ampath policy.
• Preparation and implementation department specific SOPs
• Maintain the Quality management system policies of AmPath.
• Provide educational programmes for the medical laboratory staff and participate in educational programmes of the institution.
• Maintains oversight of department specific inventories and material consumption; and raises requests for indent and issue of items as needful for lab function.
