Job summary

MNCFC, a national centre under DACFW, invites applications for a contractual Consultant for six months to support the FASAL project. The consultant will be deployed at MNCFC, New Delhi, and will provide project management support, coordinate with states, offer technical guidance to analysts, and perform report writing and quality checks.

The role requires extensive travel across the country for programme monitoring and management and may include working beyond normal hours as needed.

Qualifications

• Ph.D. degree in any branch of Science.
• At least 15 years experience in applications of Remote Sensing GIS in Agriculture and related disciplines.
• Experience in managing large national/state level projects.
• Experience in Leading Large Team of Scientists.
• At least 10 publications, with 5 in peer reviewed and cited journals.
• Strong knowledge in Image Processing, GIS and Data Analysis.
• Experience of Administrative/Leadership Positions.
• Experience in Crop Production Forecasting using satellite data.

Responsibilities

Job Summary

MNCFC is a national centre under Department of Agriculture, Cooperation Farmers Welfare (DACFW), Government of India, located in Pusa Campus, New Delhi, engaged in use of space technology for agricultural applications. For the FASAL project, MNCFC proposes to hire One Consultant, on purely contractual and temporary basis through the Service Provider, engaged by MNCFC. Recruited Consultant will be the employee of the Service Provider and would provide professional services to MNCFC, on outsourcing basis. The job is purely temporary, for a period six months. The selected Consultant will be deployed at MNCFC, New Delhi. The job requirement of the consultant will be providing support for project management, coordination with the states, technical guidance to the analysts, report writing, quality checking, etc. The post would involve extensive touring in different parts of the country for programme monitoring and management.

Job Details / Terms

• The Consultant will be deployed at MNCFC, New Delhi.
• The Consultant will be required to work during normal office hours of MNCFC for all working days. In case of exigencies, the Consultant may be required to work beyond office hours and on holidays. Absences from work of not more than 18 days in a year may be allowed (subject to prior approval) to take care of ill-health or any other personal constraint.

Selection Process

• Candidates will be screened based on eligibility and merit of their academic record and experience based on their Curriculum Vitae (CV).
• Screened candidates will be called by the service provider for interview by an expert committee, in New Delhi.
• Combined overall performance to be assessed based on Interview (50%) and CV (50%) shall be the deciding factor for selection.
• No TA/DA will be paid for participating in the interview.
