About the Job
We are looking for a technically strong and impact-driven Agriculture Expert to join our Nature & Climate Resilience team. The role will focus on integrating climate science with agricultural systems to support climate‑resilient planning, sustainable land use, and data‑driven decision‑making. The candidate will contribute to projects involving agriculture modelling, crop suitability assessments, and climate risk analysis, supporting both policy and on‑ground implementation strategies.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct Climate/Crop suitability mapping under current and future climate scenarios
- Analyse climate risks (temperature, rainfall variability, extreme events) and their impacts on agricultural productivity
- Support development of climate‑resilient agricultural strategies and interventions
- Integrate multi‑source datasets (climate models, soil data, satellite imagery, socio‑economic data)
- Develop spatial outputs such as vulnerability maps, risk zonation, and adaptation planning layers
- Support design and implementation of district/state‑level climate action plans and agriculture resilience strategies
- Prepare technical reports, policy briefs, and client deliverables
- Engage with government departments (Agriculture, Horticulture, Rural Development), research institutions, and local stakeholders
- Translate technical outputs into actionable insights for policymakers and practitioners
- Stay updated on latest developments in climate‑smart agriculture, modelling tools, and adaptation frameworks
- Contribute to development of new methodologies, tools, and frameworks for resilience planning
Required Qualifications
- Master's degree in Agriculture, Environmental Science, Climate Science, or related field
- 4-6 years of relevant experience in agriculture, climate resilience, or related domains
- Strong understanding of agricultural systems and crop science, climate change impacts on agriculture and crop modelling / agro‑climatic analysis
- Proficient in MS Office suite
- Good data analysis skills (Python/R preferred)
- Ability to interpret complex datasets and generate actionable insights
- Report writing and communication skills
