Job summary

Narayana Health's Mazumdar Shaw Medical Centre is seeking a Consultant – ENT to join the Department of ENT on a full-time basis. You will conduct outpatient consultations, perform ENT procedures, and manage a broad range of ENT conditions in a tertiary care setting.

The ideal candidate will have strong diagnostic and surgical skills, provide pre- and post-operative care, and work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality patient care in a teaching hospital environment.

Responsibilities

• Conduct outpatient consultations and comprehensive ENT examinations.
• Diagnose and manage a wide range of ear, nose, throat, head and neck conditions.
• Develop appropriate treatment plans based on clinical findings and investigations.
• Perform ENT procedures and surgeries as per expertise and hospital privileges.
• Manage common ENT emergencies, including epistaxis, foreign bodies, airway emergencies, and acute infections.
• Perform and interpret relevant ENT procedures and investigations, as applicable.
• Provide pre-operative evaluation and post-operative follow-up for surgical patients.
• Counsel patients and their families regarding diagnosis, treatment options, procedures, risks, and expected outcomes.
• Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation and medical records.
• Coordinate patient care with other specialties whenever multidisciplinary management is required.
• Participate in emergency/on-call duties as per the hospital roster.
• Ensure adherence to hospital policies, infection-control protocols, clinical guidelines, and patient-safety standards.
• Participate in clinical audits, quality-improvement initiatives, teaching, and departmental meetings.
• Maintain professional and ethical standards in all patient interactions.
