Job Description

Senior Resident – ENT is responsible for diagnosing and treating disorders of the ear, nose, throat, head, and neck under the supervision of Consultant ENT Surgeons. The includes outpatient and inpatient care, emergency ENT management, assisting in surgical procedures, and providing evidence-based patient care.

Role & Responsibilities

• Diagnose and manage ENT and head & neck disorders.
• Conduct OPD consultations, inpatient rounds, and emergency ENT assessments.
• Assist in and perform ENT surgical procedures as per institutional privileges.
• Evaluate hearing, balance, nasal, sinus, throat, and voice disorders.
• Interpret audiometry, endoscopy, imaging studies, and laboratory investigations.
• Manage ENT emergencies such as epistaxis, airway obstruction, and foreign body removal.
• Develop treatment plans and monitor postoperative recovery.
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation and operative records.
• Coordinate with anesthesiologists, audiologists, speech therapists, and multidisciplinary teams.
• Counsel patients and families regarding diagnosis, surgery, treatment options, and follow-up care.
• Participate in clinical audits, academic activities, teaching programs, and research.
• Support NABH accreditation and departmental quality initiatives.
• Maintain confidentiality of patient and hospital information.
• Follow hospital policies, medical ethics, and statutory regulations.
• Deliver safe, evidence-based, and patient-centered ENT care.
