Job summary

Model Business Services in Haryana is seeking a detail-oriented Construction Estimator to review 2D drawings, perform quantity take-offs, and deliver fast, competitive estimates for US-based construction projects.

The role requires 4–5 years in construction estimating or related fields, with strong analytical and mathematical skills and experience in pricing, BOQs, and budgeting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in civil engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
• 4-5 years of experience in construction estimating, project management, or related roles (US/Canada projects preferred).
• Strong analytical, mathematical, communication, and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed quantity take-offs, cost estimates, budgets, and bids for civil construction projects.
• Review drawings, detect discrepancies, and coordinate for clarifications on BOQs and designs.
• Perform accurate quantity take-offs for materials, labor, and equipment.
• Prepare fast, detailed construction estimates based on 2D drawings and project specs.
• Provide detailed cost estimates, pricing, BOQs, and project budgets.
• Solicit and evaluate quotations from subcontractors, suppliers, and vendors.
• Review and compare estimates to identify cost optimization opportunities.
• Coordinate with engineers, architects, PMs, internal teams, clients, vendors, and subs for pricing and scope.
• Prepare cost reports, bid summaries, and estimate-related documentation.
• Maintain cost databases, estimation sheets, and historical pricing data.
• Use estimating software (Bluebeam, PlanSwift, On-Screen Takeoff, MS Office, ERP systems) for take-offs.

Job Summary

We are looking for a detail-oriented Construction Estimator with experience in construction estimation, quantity take-offs, BOQ preparation, pricing, and project cost estimation. The candidate will be responsible for reviewing 2D drawings and blueprints, preparing accurate quantities and pricing, and delivering fast-paced estimates for US-based construction projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Cost Estimation: Prepare detailed quantity take-offs, cost estimates, budgets, and bids for civil construction projects. Determine costs for labor, materials, equipment, subcontractors, and other project-related expenses.
• Drawing & Plan Analysis: Identify discrepancies, missing information, scope changes, design variations, and inconsistencies in drawings, specifications, and BOQs, and coordinate for necessary clarifications..
• Quantity Take-Off: Perform accurate quantity take-offs and quantity surveys for materials, labor, equipment, and other construction activities based on drawings and project specifications.
• Construction Estimating: Prepare fast, accurate, and detailed construction estimates primarily based on 2D drawings, blueprints, specifications, and project requirements.
• Pricing & Budgeting: Prepare detailed cost estimates, pricing estimates, BOQs, and project budgets covering materials, labor, equipment, subcontractors, and other project expenses.
• Vendor & Subcontractor Management: Solicit, evaluate, compare, and manage quotations from subcontractors, suppliers, and vendors to ensure competitive and accurate pricing.
• Estimate Comparison: Review and compare estimates, quotations, and pricing to identify cost differences, discrepancies, and opportunities for cost optimization.
• Collaboration: Coordinate with engineers, architects, project managers, internal teams, clients, vendors, and subcontractors to clarify drawings, quantities, specifications, scope, and pricing.
• Reporting: Prepare and present detailed cost reports, proposals, bid summaries, budget updates, estimate comparisons, and other estimation-related documentation.
• Database Management: Maintain accurate cost databases, estimation sheets, supplier and subcontractor databases, BOQs, historical pricing, and supporting documentation.
• Software Proficiency: Utilize estimating and construction software and tools, including Bluebeam, PlanSwift, On-Screen Takeoff, MS Office, and ERP systems, for quantity take-offs, estimation, pricing, and reporting.
• Construction Knowledge: Demonstrate a strong understanding of construction materials, labor costing, equipment costs, subcontractor pricing, and overall project expenses.
• Turnaround & Accuracy: Ensure all estimates, bids, quantity take-offs, and related deliverables are completed within the required TAT (Turnaround Time) while maintaining a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
