Job summary

HELLA India Automotive Pvt Ltd. is seeking a mechanical design engineer to develop automotive acoustic solutions and lead 3D modeling and documentation in a fast-paced environment at Dhankot, Gurugram.

Responsibilities include CAD modeling in CATIA, BOM generation, design validation, and cross-functional coordination with manufacturing and quality teams. A degree in mechanical engineering and GD&T knowledge are required, with 5–8 years of experience in automotive design.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering with GD&T knowledge.
• Experience in machining, sheet metal, welding, casting, and injection molding.
• Strong problem-solving and teamwork skills; good communication.

• Develop design concepts based on customer requirements and engineering specifications.
• Perform design calculations, tolerance analysis, and material selection.
• Generate BOMs, engineering documentation, and technical reports.

YOUR TASKS

Key Responsibilities

• Knowledge of acoustic solutions like Horn / AVAS / Speaker.


• Experience with PLM/PDM systems.


• Familiarity with ISO, ASME, and industry engineering standards.


• Experience in automotive product design.


• Create and modify 3D models, assemblies, and detailed manufacturing drawings using CAD software such as CATIA.


• Develop design concepts based on customer requirements and engineering specifications.


• Perform design calculations, tolerance analysis, and material selection.


• Generate BOMs (Bill of Materials), engineering documentation, and technical reports.


• Support prototype development, testing, and validation activities.


• Coordinate with manufacturing, production, quality, and procurement teams.


• Coordinate with local & Global customers.


• Ensure designs comply with engineering standards, safety regulations, and company guidelines.


• Conduct design reviews and implement engineering changes.


• Optimize product designs for manufacturability, cost reduction, and performance improvement.


• Maintain accurate design records and revision control.

Your Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering. Understanding of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing). Knowledge of manufacturing processes such as machining, sheet metal, welding, casting, and injection molding. Strong problem-solving and analytical skills. Good communication and teamwork abilities.


• Knowledge of acoustic solutions like Horn / AVAS / Speaker. Experience with PLM/PDM systems. Familiarity with ISO, ASME, and industry engineering standards. Experience in automotive product design.
