Job summary

P99Soft Pvt. Ltd. is seeking a skilled Concept Artist in Pune to shape player experience through storytelling, mood and visual consistency across game interfaces and marketing assets.

You will work with designers, developers and marketing to translate ideas into compelling concepts, iterate on visuals, and ensure a cohesive visual language for mobile game projects.

• Strong fundamentals in composition, color, lighting and storytelling.

Responsibilities

• Create concept art for characters, environments, props, UI elements, game features and visual themes.
• Develop artwork with emphasis on storytelling, mood, visual hierarchy and player experience.
• Apply basics of player psychology when designing visuals for characters, rewards and progression visuals.
• Contribute to UI/UX art direction to keep interfaces readable, intuitive and audience-appropriate.
• Create concepts and visual directions for store assets, promotional artwork, key art, banners and marketing creatives.
• Help establish and maintain a consistent art style and visual language across the game.
• Collaborate with designers, artists, developers and marketing teams to translate gameplay ideas into visuals.
• Produce sketches, mood boards and polished concepts for production teams.
• Research competitors and visual trends to support creative decisions.
• Iterate rapidly based on feedback and explore multiple concepts.

P99Soft if looking for a talented Concept Artist who can contribute beyond individual assets and help shape the overall player experience, visual storytelling, UI/UX, game presentation, and marketing direction.

The ideal candidate should understand how art influences player psychology, readability, emotion, engagement, and decision-making, and be able to translate game ideas into clear, appealing, and effective visual concepts.

Key Responsibilities

• Create concept art for characters, environments, props, UI elements, game features, and visual themes.
• Develop artwork with a strong focus on storytelling, mood, visual hierarchy, and player experience.
• Apply basic principles of player psychology when designing characters, rewards, progression visuals, environments, and game interactions.
• Contribute to UI/UX art direction, ensuring interfaces are visually appealing, readable, intuitive, and suitable for the target audience.
• Create concepts and visual directions for store assets, promotional artwork, key art, banners, icons, and marketing creatives.
• Help establish and maintain a consistent art style and visual language across the game.
• Work closely with game designers, artists, developers, and marketing teams to translate gameplay ideas into effective visual solutions.
• Produce sketches, paint overs, mood boards, visual explorations, and polished concepts for production teams.
• Research competing games, visual trends, player preferences, and visual references to support creative decisions.
• Explore multiple concepts quickly and iterate based on feedback.
• Clearly communicate visual ideas and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.

Required Skills

• Strong fundamentals in composition, color, lighting, shape language, perspective, and visual storytelling.
• Good understanding of game art and player-focused design.
• Basic understanding of UI/UX principles and visual hierarchy.
• Understanding of how visuals influence player emotion, engagement, readability, and decision-making.
• Ability to explore multiple concepts and communicate ideas clearly.
• Ability to think beyond aesthetics and understand why a visual works for the player.
• Strong interest in game design, storytelling, player psychology, marketing art, and art direction.
• Comfortable receiving feedback and iterating rapidly.
• Strong collaboration and communication skills.

Good to Have

• Experience working on mobile games or interactive entertainment products.
• Experience creating game marketing and promotional artwork.
• Experience with game UI/UX and visual design.
• Understanding of player engagement and game presentation.

• Ability to create concepts that can guide 2D/3D production artists.
