Job summary

Raks yon is a deep-tech engineering company developing next-generation composite structures and automated manufacturing technologies for the aerospace and defence sectors. The Composites Design (CAE) & Manufacturing Engineer will be responsible for the design, analysis, tooling development, and manufacturing of composite structures.

The engineer will develop detailed CAD models, perform CAE/FEA simulations to validate designs, and design moulds, tools, and fixtures for manufacturing.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Aerospace, Mechanical, Composites, or related engineering discipline.
• 3+ years of relevant industry experience in composite structures, aerospace/defence, or advanced manufacturing.
• Strong CAD modelling and design skills with SolidWorks, CATIA, Siemens NX, or equivalent.
• Experience in CAE/FEA simulations using Abaqus, ANSYS, Nastran, or equivalent.
• Hands-on experience in composite moulds, tooling and fixture design with attention to manufacturability.
• Exposure to composite manufacturing processes (e.g., VARTM, prepregs, autoclave, RTM).
• Knowledge of laminate design, failure criteria, sandwich structures, joints, and structural mechanics.
• Experience across design → CAE → tooling → manufacturing; aerospace/defence exposure a plus.
• Experience in electromagnetic simulation, automation, Python/MATLAB, or AI/ML is a strong plus.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop detailed CAD models and engineering drawings for composite structures.
• Perform structural and composite CAE/FEA simulations to validate and optimize designs.
• Design moulds, tools and fixtures required for manufacturing.
• Ensure designs are manufacturable and support shop-floor trials.
• Troubleshoot manufacturing issues and drive design and process improvements.
• Collaborate with manufacturing to support tooling analysis and process development.

Role Description

The Composites Design (CAE) & Manufacturing Engineer will be responsible for the design, analysis, tooling development, and manufacturing of composite structures. The role involves developing detailed CAD models and engineering drawings, performing structural and composite CAE/FEA simulations to validate and optimize designs, and designing and analyzing moulds, tools, and fixtures required for manufacturing. The engineer will work closely with the manufacturing team to ensure designs are manufacturable, support composite manufacturing processes and shop-floor trials, troubleshoot manufacturing issues, and drive design and process improvements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Aerospace, Mechanical, Composites, or a related engineering discipline.
• 3+ years of relevant industry experience in composite structures, aerospace/defence, advanced manufacturing, or a closely related field.
• Strong CAD modelling and design skills, with proficiency in SolidWorks, CATIA, Siemens NX, or equivalent.
• Strong experience in composite structural analysis and CAE/FEA, preferably using Abaqus, ANSYS, Nastran, or equivalent.
• Hands-on experience in composite mould, tooling and fixture design, including design for manufacturability, tooling analysis, GD&T and manufacturing drawings.
• Hands-on experience in composite manufacturing processes such as VARTM/vacuum infusion, prepreg, autoclave, RTM, compression moulding, wet layup, and additive manufacturing.
• Strong understanding of composite materials, laminate design, failure criteria, sandwich structures, bonded/bolted joints, and structural mechanics.
• Hands-on, problem-solving mindset with the ability to work across design → CAE → tooling → manufacturing, experience in aerospace/defence,
• Experience in electromagnetic simulation, automation, Python/MATLAB, or AI/ML considered a strong plus.
