Job summary

RGBSI is seeking a Component Engineer with 5+ years of experience in Electrical/Electronic components and PLM proficiency to support design and manufacturing. The role focuses on identifying critical component parameters, evaluating alternate parts, and ensuring compliance with industry standards.

The incumbent will participate in design reviews, drive second-source qualification, and collaborate with Engineering, Manufacturing, and Supply Chain to mitigate single-source risks and improve

• Hands-on experience in Component Engineering.
• Strong understanding of electrical/electronic components and their application in design/manufacturing.
• Experience finding critical parameters from datasheets and alternate parts.
• Knowledge of UL, IEC, CSA and ANSI standards for industrial applications.
• Provide inputs on component selection to improve reliability in designs.
• Lead effort to identify second sources for equivalent parts.
• Liaison with Engineering, Manufacturing and Supply Chain on component issues.

Component Engineer

Experience Level: 5+Years.

Qualification: BE Electrical/Electronics

Mandatory Skills:

The candidate should have hands-on experience in Component Engineering, with a strong understanding of Electrical and Electronic components and their application in product design and manufacturing.

Finding and analyzing the critical parameters from datasheets of Electrical Components & finding alternate parts and providing Form Fit Functions Analysis.

Good Knowledge of UL, IEC, CSA and ANSI standards applicable to industrial applications and semiconductor industry. Commodities include but not limited to Connectors, Circuit Breaker, Multiconductor cables, Wires, Contactors, Relays, Connectors, ICs, Resistors etc.,

Provide inputs on component selection to new designs to improve product reliability by participating in design reviews.

Initiate and lead effort to identify and qualify second sources for equivalent part/ material availability to ensure single supplier risk mitigation, cost reduction and reliability improvements.

Good knowledge of Supplier base related to Electrical/Electromechanical components.

Liasion with Engineering, Manufacturing and supply chain and work on solving and implementing component related problem reports.

Involve in all aspects of component engineering such as design support, Component selection including technical analysis, reliability of component, availability and Component cost

Ability to work with little or no supervision, self-motivated, detail-oriented and passion for continuous improvements.

Should be an excellent problem solver and analyzer.

Results & execution driven consistently delivers on commitments & stretch goals.

Desired Skills.

Experience with PLM, Library management and various industry standards for Electrical and Electromechanical components.

Hands on experience working on quality tools like 5WHY, Fishbone and Pareto analysis etc.

Excellent organizational, data collection and presentation skills.
