Purpose of the Role
To ensure complete regulatory compliance for the business (Mulit plants & Green field Projects) by establishing robust compliance systems, monitoring adherence to applicable laws, mitigating legal risks, and supporting business operations on legal matters.
Key Responsibilities
1. Regulatory Compliance (Primary Responsibility)
- Ensure compliance with all applicable central, state and local laws governing the Auto & Industrial businesses.
Develop, maintain and monitor a comprehensive legal compliance calendar.
- Track changes in laws and regulations and ensure timely implementation across the business.
- Conduct periodic compliance audits and identify gaps, ensuring timely closure.
- Coordinate with business functions to ensure compliance with statutory obligations.
- Maintain all statutory registers, records and compliance documentation.
- Prepare periodic compliance reports and dashboards for management.
2. Regulatory Interface
- Liaise with regulatory authorities, government departments and statutory bodies as required.
Coordinate inspections, notices and regulatory filings.
- Ensure timely response to regulatory queries and notices.
3. Policy & Governance
- Develop and implement compliance policies, SOPs and legal governance frameworks.
- Drive awareness and training programmes on legal compliance across functions.
- Promote a culture of compliance within the organisation.
4. Legal Risk Management
- Identify legal and compliance risks and recommend mitigation measures.
- Monitor high-risk compliance areas and ensure corrective actions are implemented.
- Support internal audits and compliance reviews.
Qualification & Experience
- LLB from a recognised university (LLM or Company Secretary qualification would be an advantage).
- 15+ years of experience in compliance, preferably in manufacturing, automotive, engineering, or aerospace sectors.
- Strong knowledge of industrial, labour, environmental, factory, corporate and commercial laws.
