Job summary

Navi is seeking a senior HR professional to own compensation strategy and governance, shaping pay equity and competitiveness across locations. You will lead market benchmarking, design salary structures, and oversee incentive programs and ESOPs while partnering with Talent Acquisition and leadership to drive fair, data-driven pay decisions.

The ideal candidate brings an MBA/PGDBM in HR with 4–6 years in core compensation design and governance, plus strong analytics and stakeholder management

Qualifications

  • MBA / PGDBM (Preferably in Human Resources)
  • 4–6 years of experience in HR (with at least 4 years of Core Compensation Design and Administration)
  • Proficient in independently conducting market benchmarking exercises with external vendors
  • Strong Analytical Skills: Ability to analyze data, think logically, and work with numbers
  • Excellent Communication Skills: Written and oral, stakeholder collaboration
  • Ability to handle conflict resolution and tough conversations
  • Demonstrates integrity and ownership of responsibilities
  • Think outside the box and address unstructured problems confidently
  • Proficient in MS Office and Google Sheets

Job description

The Human Resources and People Strategy team at Navi manages the entire employee lifecycle, from talent acquisition and HR operations to employee engagement and development. They partner closely with both tech and non-tech business teams to design and implement strategies that attract, retain, and develop top talent, ensuring a thriving, high-performance organizational culture.

About the Role

This role sits at the intersection of strategy, governance, and execution, shaping Navi’s approach to compensation and benefits as a critical enabler of talent and business success. You’ll drive programs that ensure pay equity, competitiveness, and transparency, while partnering across functions to design scalable, data-backed solutions. It’s a role that requires sharp analytical thinking, strong stakeholder management, and a deep understanding of how rewards influence behavior, performance, and culture.

What We Expect From You
Compensation Strategy and Governance
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive compensation strategy that aligns with business objectives and talent priorities.
  • Oversee the design, review, and execution of salary structures, incentive programs, and ESOPs, ensuring internal equity and external competitiveness.
  • Define and maintain pay philosophy and governance frameworks, ensuring consistency across levels, functions, and locations.
  • Conduct market benchmarking and compensation surveys to provide insights that inform pay decisions.
  • Ensure compliance with local labor laws, tax regulations, and governance standards related to compensation and benefits.
  • Partner closely with the Talent Acquisition team to drive compensation fitments for new hires, ensuring internal and external pay parity across the organization.
  • Facilitate internal talent movements across entities and teams, ensuring equitable pay transitions and alignment with compensation philosophy.
Compensation Administration and Communication
  • Develop compensation scenarios for salary increments and variable pay, ensuring alignment with budgets, business strategy, and market benchmarks.
  • Lead the annual and mid-year compensation review processes, including merit increases, promotions, and bonus payouts.
  • Present organization-wide compensation analysis and gap reports, incorporating comparator baskets and industry insights.
  • Evaluate and optimize total rewards programs, including allowances, short term incentives, and long-term incentives, to improve employee satisfaction and retention.
  • Provide compensation training to HR business partners, managers, and leadership teams on pay philosophy, merit processes, bonuses, and other rewards programs.
Must Haves
  • MBA / PGDBM (Preferably in Human Resources)
  • 4–6 years of experience in the field of HR (with at least 4 years of Core Compensation Design and Administration experience)
  • Proficient in independently conducting market benchmarking exercises with external vendors
  • Strong Analytical Skills: Ability to analyze data, think logically, and comfortable working with numbers and statistics
  • Excellent Communication Skills: Both written and oral, with the ability to collaborate effectively with stakeholders from diverse backgrounds
  • Ability to handle conflict resolution and engage in tough conversations
  • Demonstrates a strong sense of integrity and takes ownership of responsibilities
  • Ability to think outside the box and address unstructured problem statements confidently
  • Proficient in MS Office suite and Google Sheets
