Job description

The Cloudops team at Navi deploys, operates, and scales a hybrid cloud architecture spanning AWS, Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI), and specialized self-hosted environments.

As Navi partners closely with banks and regulated financial institutions, our infrastructure must be resilient, compliant, and secure by design. That all systems run seamlessly while safeguarding sensitive customer data (including PII) and preventing any disruptions in financial transactions. We are passionate about building next‑generation infrastructure that balances security, performance, and developer velocity. The team is responsible for ensuring timely onboarding and management of infrastructure components.

This includes:

Cloud & Hybrid Infrastructure: Scaling/Deploy services across AWS, OCI, and On‑Prem components.
Security & Compliance: Embedding guardrails and automation to meet stringent financial‑grade security requirements.
Cost Optimisation: Ensuring our infra is not just reliable, but also cost‑efficient at scale.

Key Responsibilities

1. Cloud and Vendor Management

Manage deployments, patching, and changes on partner and internal cloud environments per compliance and partner needs.
Set up new accounts and cloud environments for emerging business units.

2. Operations and Automation

Conduct disaster recovery (DR) drills periodically for both internal and partner cloud environments.
Create and manage secure golden AMIs and Docker images for consistency and security.
Automate scripts and tools to improve operational efficiency and scalability.

3. Monitoring and Incident Response

Monitor and resolve alerts promptly to ensure high availability of systems and services.
Act as the first responder for internal and external security issues, ensuring resolution within defined SLAs.
Collaborate with DevOps for smoother operations by handling mundane day‑to‑day tasks (e.g., creating new alerts or troubleshooting deployments).

4. Documentation and Audit Management

Manage internal and external audits by creating detailed documentation and automation for streamlined processes.
Develop SOPs, runbooks, generic dashboards, and alerts for effective operations.

5. Collaboration and Cross‑functional Support

Work closely with central teams (DevOps, Cloud Platform, Engineering Excellence) to ensure proper communication and understanding of requirements.
Help developers troubleshoot deployment and alert‑related issues, fostering a culture of collaboration.

6. Networking and Security

Maintaining a strong understanding of networking concepts and infrastructure ensures secure and reliable operations.
Occasionally, travel to external bank offices for initial setups and infrastructure management as required.

Must Haves

0 to 2 years of experience with AWS Cloud
Good scripting in Python and Shell
Strong understanding of Linux/Unix & Windows systems and networking concepts.
Proficient in networking
Strong communication skills with the ability to effectively interact with cross‑functional teams
Experience in Terraform/CDK, etc.
Experience with containerization technologies like Docker and orchestration tools like Kubernetes.
