Job summary

Ingersoll Rand in Naroda, Gujarat is seeking a seasoned Commodity Manager to lead defined mechanical commodity groups and drive sourcing strategy. You will own RFx processes, negotiate with suppliers, and ensure supplier quality, continuity of supply, and value through Lean and cost analysis.

Responsibilities

• Manage and own defined commodity groups (Oil-Lubricants, Drives, Refrigerant system, and other Mechanical commodities).
• Develop and execute detailed commodity strategy including spend segmentation and supply market analysis.
• Develop sourcing strategy detailing projects, sourcing levers, and expected benefits.
• Lead execution of sourcing projects including RFx, continuous improvement, and consolidation.
• Define negotiations strategy with supplier profiles and Total Cost of Ownership considerations.
• Conduct or support negotiations and supplier selection with contract lifecycle management.
• Deliver commodity productivity through price analyses and continuous improvement.
• Support SRM and quarterly supplier reviews with supplier segmentation.
• Ensure continuity of supply by engaging plants and securing supplier capacity.
• Support NPD procurement teams and SRM in RFQ processes.
• Monitor and mitigate supplier risk and drive supplier consolidation.

Responsibilities

• Manage and own defined commodity group like Oil-Lubricants, Drives, Refrigerant system commodity and other Mechanical commodities
• Responsible for developing & executing detailed commodity strategy:
• Assess Opportunity and analysis for commodity including spend segmentation, commodity maturity, cost drivers, and supply market analysis
• Develop Sourcing Strategy for commodity detailing projects, sourcing levers (Resourcing, Localization, LCC), timing, resources, and expected benefits
• Accountable for execution of sourcing projects including RFx, continuous improvement, consolidation, etc.
• Responsible for defining negotiations strategy including supplier profiles, commercial negotiations targets, defining switching costs, and building Total Cost of Ownership (TCO)
• Conduct or support negotiations and supplier selection - accountable for contract life cycle management and compliance
• Responsible for delivering commodity productivity through price, value analysis (VA) or continuous improvement projects - responsible for supporting regional/sector counterparts
• Support supplier segmentation, Supplier Relationship Management (SRM) and quarterly supplier reviews for all strategic suppliers within commodity. Scribe for all quarterly reviews and key supplier meetings. Ensure creation of supplier profiles for all SRM suppliers.
• Responsible for commodity continuity of supply - engage with plants to efficiently resolve escalated issues and formally manage and secure supplier capacity
• Support region/sector NPD Procurement teams and tendering team through preferred supplier programs, RFQ's, and SRM to set and meet program QCD targets
• Actively monitor and mitigate supplier risk including financial, capacity, quality, and compliance
• Drive Supplier consolidation program and can be able to drive Net working capital through Pay term improvement, Supplier Inventory and Manage Long term supplier agreements
• Responsible for forecasting, reporting, mitigating, and recovery of commodity inflation
• Global Sourcing
• Support Quarterly Commodity Reviews (QCR) including updated projects, metrics, strategy, and countermeasures
• Identify and engage with internal stakeholders (Engineering, Operations, Quality) to capture commodity requirements and ensure supplier qualification and quality - partner with regional teams to efficiently transition suppliers as needed

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering with 15+ years of working experience in Strategic Sourcing or supply chain
• Good command of English language and good command of Microsoft Office Suite required
• Excellent customer service: commitment to solve problems and requests, understanding of the customer needs, business and priorities.
• Excellent problem-solving abilities. Solves the majority of problems with no/minimal supervision. Recognizes developing problems and brings them to the attention of others to ensure the appropriate solution is reached / decision is taken.
• Knowledge of Oracle R12 and SAP MM module software
• Must be able to work well and adapt to change in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills.
• Must have ability to work well in a virtual team environment and effectively collaborate across multiple teams.
• Understands business processes and can relate actions to business outcomes.
• Ability to analyze and document complex business processes
• Knowledge of ISO Standards
