Job summary

Bharat Bijlee Ltd. is seeking an experienced Substation Testing & Commissioning Engineer to lead testing, commissioning, troubleshooting and energization activities for EHV/HV substations.

The role requires strong knowledge of protection and control systems, switchgear, transformers and commissioning procedures. The candidate will execute testing from 11kV to 400kV, perform pre-commissioning checks, coordinate with clients and site teams, and ensure safety, quality and timely delivery of

Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of substation equipment and protection systems.
• Experience with numerical relays from major brands.
• Knowledge of IEC standards and compliance requirements.

Responsibilities

• Execute testing and commissioning activities for substations from 11kV to 400kV.
• Perform pre-commissioning checks and functional testing of transformers, circuit breakers, CTs/PTs/CVTs, isolators and earthing switches, protection relays, control panels, SCADA and automation systems.
• Coordinate with clients, consultants, OEMs and site teams; prepare commissioning tests, reports and punch lists.
• Ensure adherence to safety standards, project specifications and timelines.

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Substation Testing & Commissioning Engineer responsible for testing, commissioning, troubleshooting, and energization activities for EHV/HV substations. The candidate should possess strong technical knowledge of protection systems, control systems, switchgear, transformers, and substation equipment commissioning procedures.

Job Location: Andra Pradesh, UP, Maharashtra, Gujarat, Mangalore

Key Responsibilities

• Execute testing and commissioning activities for substations ranging from 11kV to 400kV (or applicable voltage levels)
• Perform pre-commissioning checks and functional testing of:
• Power transformers
• Circuit breakers
• CTs/PTs/CVTs
• Isolators and earthing switches
• Protection relays
• Control & relay panels
• SCADA and automation systems
• Conduct relay testing and protection coordination using testing kits
• Verify wiring, interlocks, annunciation, alarms, and control logic
• Carry out primary and secondary injection tests
• Coordinate with clients, consultants, OEMs, and site teams during commissioning activities
• Prepare commissioning reports, test reports, punch lists, and documentation
• Ensure compliance with electrical safety standards and project specifications
• Support troubleshooting and fault analysis during commissioning and post-energization
• Participate in shutdown planning and energization activities
• Ensure adherence to quality, safety, and project timelines
