Job summary

Elegrow Technology Pvt Ltd in Surat is seeking an on-site Electrical Test Technician to perform pre-commissioning checks, insulation resistance tests, CT/PT ratio and relay testing for substations and industrial power systems.

You will also conduct transformer and switchgear tests, support solar-related tests, document test reports, coordinate with site teams, and assist energization activities while traveling extensively to client sites.

Qualifications

• Experience with electrical testing and commissioning required.
• Ability to read electrical drawings (SLDs, schematics) is essential.
• Willingness to travel extensively for site deployment.
• Good documentation and reporting skills are necessary.
• MS Office proficiency is expected.

Responsibilities

• Conduct pre-commissioning checks: visual inspection, torque verification, cable dressing/termination checks, labelling and tagging verification
• Perform insulation resistance (IR/megger), continuity, earth resistance, and polarity/phase sequence testing
• Execute CT/PT ratio and polarity testing, and protection relay testing for substation and industrial power systems
• Carry out transformer testing (winding resistance, oil BDV, ratio test) and switchgear/breaker testing
• Perform solar-specific tests: string/IV curve testing, module polarity checks, inverter commissioning support, performance ratio verification
• Support SCADA/RTU functional testing, loop checking, and ELV systems commissioning as applicable
• Prepare and maintain test reports, commissioning protocols, and punch/snag lists per ETPL's document control standards
• Coordinate with site engineering, vendors, and client/TPI representatives during witness testing and energization
• Support energization activities and compile post-commissioning handover documentation
• Flag test discrepancies/non-conformances and coordinate corrective actions with the design team

Job Description

• Support SCADA/RTU functional testing, loop checking, and ELV systems commissioning (CCTV, WMS, UPS) as applicable
• Prepare and maintain test reports, commissioning protocols, and punch/snag lists per ETPL's document control standards
• Coordinate with site engineering, vendors, and client/TPI representatives during witness testing and energization
• Support energization activities and compile post-commissioning handover documentation
• Flag test discrepancies/non-conformances and coordinate corrective actions with the design team

Requirements

• Working knowledge of test instruments: megger, earth tester, multimeter, CT/PT test kits, relay test kits
• Ability to read and work from electrical drawings (SLDs, schematics) and test protocols
• Basic understanding of protection systems, switchgear, and transformers
• Willingness to travel extensively for site deployment
• Good documentation and report-writing skills
• Working proficiency in MS Office
• Clear communication for client and vendor coordination on site
