Job summary

Tata Projects in Gujarat, India seeks an experienced Commissioning Engineer (Outsourced Staff) to lead OSBL commissioning of utility packages, including HRSGs, boilers, water treatment facilities, and instrument air systems. You will work with PMC contractors to ensure a safe, on-time startup.

Qualifications

• Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering.
• Minimum 8 years of experience in engineering, construction and commissioning of gas turbines, HRSGs, boilers, water treatment facilities, instrument air and related utilities.

Responsibilities

• Develop OSBL configuration and utility schemes per the licensor's utility summary.
• Evaluate CAPEX, OPEX, reliability and efficiency of utility generation options.
• Interpret PFDs, P&IDs and Cause & Effect diagrams.
• Lead OSBL pre-commissioning and commissioning activities with schedules, procedures and check sheets.
• Coordinate vendor/sub-vendor inspections and participate in FATs.
• Participate in Pre-Start-up Safety Reviews (PSSR) and safety compliance.
• Lead commissioning, start-up and performance testing of utility plants and packages.
• Oversee operations of the power plant, HRSG and associated utility packages, including training.
• Monitor energy efficiency, plant performance and KPI reporting.
• Lead multidisciplinary teams including PMC contractors for safe commissioning of OSBL facilities.

Job Role - Commissioning Engineer (Outsourced Staff)

Role & responsibilities

• Develop the Offsite Battery Limit (OSBL) configuration and utility generation schemes based on the utility summary issued by the process licensor.
• Evaluate utility generation alternatives based on CAPEX, OPEX, reliability, and efficiency.
• Interpret PFDs, P&IDs, and Cause & Effect diagrams.
• Participate in HAZOPs and ensure timely closure of recommendations. 5. Provide technical support during plant commissioning, start-up, and operations.
• Coordinate vendor/sub-vendor inspections and participate in FATs.
• Plan and execute OSBL pre-commissioning and commissioning activities, including schedules, procedures, and check sheets.
• Participate in Pre-Start-up Safety Reviews (PSSR).
• Lead commissioning, start-up, and performance testing of utility plants and packages.
• Lead operations of the power plant, HRSG, and associated utility packages, including operator training.
• Monitor energy efficiency, assess plant performance, and develop KPI reporting.
• Lead multidisciplinary teams, including PMC contractors, for safe and successful commissioning of OSBL facilities.
• Ensure compliance with HSE standards and applicable HSE KPIs.

Preferred candidate profile

• Diploma/Bachelors degree in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering
• Minimum 8 years of relevant experience in engineering, construction, and commissioning of Gas Turbines, Steam Turbine Generators, Boilers, HRSG systems, Water Treatment Facilities (e.g. ETP plant, RO plant, cooling water system etc.), Instrument air plant, and VAM.
