Job description

Orchard Gate LLC is a wholly owned USA subsidiary of MG Resorts Pvt. Ltd., part of a group with over 25 years of experience in FMCG manufacturing and global trade.

We are building a coffee sourcing and export business focused on connecting India's finest coffees with specialty roasters, importers, and coffee brands across North America, Europe, the Middle East, and other global markets. As we expand our sourcing network, we are looking for a Coffee Sourcing & Quality Manager to help us build long‑term relationships with producers, identify exceptional coffees, and maintain quality standards from the farm to export.

Who We're Looking For

This role is ideal for someone who understands coffee beyond a desk job.

Perhaps you've grown up around coffee estates in Coorg, Chikmagalur, Sakleshpur, Hassan, Bababudangiri, BR Hills, Wayanad, or other coffee‑growing regions. Perhaps you've worked with planters, curing works, exporters, or coffee traders and understand how coffee moves from farm to buyer. Most importantly, you're someone who enjoys being in the field, building relationships, evaluating coffees, and creating opportunities for Indian coffee producers.

Key Responsibilities
Coffee Sourcing & Supplier Development
  • Build and maintain relationships with estates, planters, producer groups, curing works, and exporters
  • Identify and source specialty and commercial coffee lots aligned with buyer requirements
  • Travel regularly across coffee‑growing regions during harvest and procurement seasons
  • Negotiate commercial terms and develop long‑term supplier partnerships
  • Support producers in improving quality, consistency, and market access
Quality Evaluation
  • Conduct cupping sessions and sensory evaluations
  • Assess moisture, screen size, defects, physical preparation, and cup quality
  • Evaluate pre‑shipment samples and maintain quality consistency
  • Maintain quality documentation and traceability requirements
Export & Buyer Coordination
  • Support sample preparation and dispatch to international buyers
  • Coordinate quality approvals and lot selection
  • Ensure exported coffees meet buyer specifications and expectations
  • Help build sourcing, quality, and supplier management systems as the business grows
Preferred Background
  • Come from coffee‑growing regions such as Coorg (Kodagu), Chikmagalur, Sakleshpur, Hassan, Bababudangiri, BR Hills, Wayanad, or surrounding areas
  • Have existing relationships with planters, estate owners, curing works, exporters, or coffee producers
  • Have 2–5 years of experience in coffee sourcing, procurement, quality, curing works, green coffee trading, or related functions
  • Understand coffee grading, moisture analysis, screen sizing, defect identification, and cupping
  • Are comfortable traveling extensively and spending time in coffee‑growing regions
Additional Advantages
  • Q Grader Certification
  • PGDCQM Qualification
  • Experience in specialty coffee sourcing and exports
  • Experience working directly with producers and estates
What You’ll Get
  • Opportunity to build a sourcing network from the ground up
  • Direct exposure to international coffee markets and buyers
  • Freedom to create systems and processes rather than inherit them
  • Opportunity to work closely with producers across India’s coffee‑growing regions
  • Competitive compensation with performance‑linked incentives
  • The company covers all business travel, accommodation, and field visit expenses

Compensation Range: ₹6–10 LPA (depending on experience and network)

Location: Bengaluru, Karnataka (with extensive travel across coffee‑growing regions)
