Qualifications

• CPC certification is required.
• 5+ years of medical coding experience with at least 13 years in a supervisory or managerial role.
• Strong knowledge of ICD-10-CM, CPT, and HCPCS coding systems.
• Excellent understanding of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and clinical documentation.
• Experience with coding audits, quality assurance, and compliance.
• Excellent communication and leadership abilities.
• Strictly No HCC coding.

Responsibilities

• Manage, supervise, and mentor a team of medical coders.
• Ensure accurate and timely coding of medical records according to established guidelines.
• Review and monitor coding accuracy, productivity, and quality performance.
• Ensure compliance with ICD-10-CM, CPT, HCPCS, payer requirements, and organizational policies.
• Develop and implement corrective and preventive action plans for coding errors.
• Provide ongoing training, coaching, and feedback to coding staff.
• Handle complex coding issues and provide guidance to team members.
• Stay updated on annual changes to coding guidelines, regulations, payer policies, and industry standards.
• Prepare and present coding performance reports to management.
• Ensure confidentiality and security of patient health information.

Preferred Certifications
