Job summary

Ascendion is seeking an experienced AS/400 (IBM i) COBOL/400 Developer to join a dynamic technology team in Bengaluru. You will develop, enhance, and support ERP-like applications on the IBM i/AS400 platform, working on API integrations and modernization initiatives.

The role requires 6+ years of hands-on COBOL/400, DB2, and CL programming, strong SQL skills, and collaboration across the SDLC. Hybrid work environment offered in Bengaluru with opportunities for growth.

About the Role

We are looking for an experienced AS/400 (IBM i) COBOL/400 Developer to join a dynamic technology team working on mission-critical enterprise applications and modernization initiatives.

• Develop, enhance, and support applications on the IBM i / AS400 platform
• Write clean and maintainable code using COBOL/400, CL/400, SQL, and DB2/400
• Collaborate with business analysts, QA teams, and developers across the SDLC
• Work on integration initiatives involving APIs and external systems
• Troubleshoot and resolve application and production issues
• Optimize SQL queries and ensure database performance and integrity
• Follow development best practices, coding standards, and version control processes

Required Skills

• 6+ years of hands-on experience in:

• Good understanding of SDLC methodologies
