Job summary

Klassic Wheels Ltd. is seeking a CNC & VMC Supervisor to lead the machine shop, coordinate daily CNC/VMC machining, and ensure production targets and quality standards are met.

The role requires supervising operators, ensuring safe work practices, and driving continuous improvement in throughput, cycle time, and process control within a shop-floor environment.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of CNC and VMC machining processes and setups.
• G-code (G & M) programming basics and tooling knowledge.
• Ability to read engineering drawings and apply GD&T.
• Experience with inspection tools: Vernier, Micrometer, Bore Gauge, Height Gauge.
• Experience in planning and manpower management for machining shops.
• Strong problem solving and root cause analysis skills.
• Familiarity with TPM, Lean, Kaizen, and 5S practices.
• Good leadership and clear communication abilities.

Responsibilities

• Plan and supervise daily CNC and VMC activities per schedules.
• Achieve daily/weekly/monthly production targets and monitor OEE.
• Coordinate with maintenance to minimize downtime and ensure machine health.
• Supervise operators, setters and helpers; allocate tasks and train staff.
• Ensure parts meet drawings, specs and quality requirements.
• Maintain safety, 5S, and workplace discipline on the shop floor.
• Prepare and submit shift production and manpower reports.

Position Title- CNC & VMC Supervisor
Department - Production / Machine Shop
Reporting To - Machine Shop Manager / Production Manager
Location - Klassic Wheels Ltd - Unit 3 , A3- Manufacturing Plant

Job Purpose
To supervise and coordinate CNC and VMC machining operations to achieve production targets while ensuring quality standards, machine efficiency, safety compliance, and optimum utilization of manpower and resources.

Key Responsibilities
Production Management

• Plan and supervise daily CNC and VMC machining activities as per production schedules.
• Ensure achievement of daily, weekly, and monthly production targets.
• Monitor machine utilization, cycle time, and productivity.
• Minimize machine downtime and coordinate with maintenance teams for breakdown resolution.
• Ensure optimum utilization of manpower, machines, tools, and fixtures.

Quality Control

• Ensure components are produced as per drawings, specifications, and quality requirements.
• Monitor dimensional accuracy and surface finish of machined components.
• Coordinate with QA/QC teams for inspection and corrective actions.
• Implement corrective and preventive actions for quality issues and rejections.
• Maintain process control and reduce rejection and rework.

Team Management

• Supervise CNC/VMC Operators, Setters, and Helpers.
• Allocate jobs and responsibilities among team members.
• Conduct on-the-job training and skill development programs.
• Monitor attendance, discipline, and performance of operators.
• Promote teamwork and continuous improvement culture.

Machine & Process Control

• Verify machine settings, tooling, fixtures, offsets, and programs before production.
• Support program optimization to improve cycle time and productivity.
• Ensure proper tool management and tool life monitoring.
• Coordinate with maintenance for preventive maintenance activities.
• Monitor coolant, lubrication, and machine health conditions.

Safety & Compliance

• Ensure compliance with safety standards, PPE requirements, and company policies.
• Conduct daily safety checks in the machining area.
• Report and investigate unsafe conditions and near-miss incidents.
• Maintain 5S standards and workplace housekeeping.

Documentation & Reporting

• Maintain daily production reports, machine utilization reports, and rejection reports.
• Monitor OEE (Overall Equipment Effectiveness) and productivity parameters.
• Record downtime, breakdowns, and corrective actions.
• Submit shift-wise production and manpower reports to management.

Educational Qualification

• Diploma / BE in Mechanical Engineering, Production Engineering, or related field.
• ITI with relevant machining experience may also be considered.

Experience

• 3 to 8 years of experience in CNC/VMC machining operations.
• Minimum 2 years of supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Experience in automotive, alloy wheel, casting, or engineering industries preferred.

Required Skills

• Understanding of G-Code, M-Code, tooling, and fixture setup.
• Ability to read engineering drawings and GD&T.
