Job summary

Kaira Machine Tools is seeking a skilled CNC Programmer to prepare and optimize programs for turning, VMC, HMC and Wire EDM machines. You will select tools, fixtures, and parameters, perform setup support, and ensure quality through simulation and first-off trials.

Role & responsibilities

Prepare CNC programs for CNC Turning, VMC, HMC, and Wire EDM (Wire Cut)

machines.

• Generate machining programs using CAM software.
• Develop new machining processes and optimise existing programs to improve

productivity.

• Select machining strategies, cutting tools, fixtures, and machining parameters.
• Perform machine setup support during new job trials and production.
• Optimise cycle time while maintaining component quality.
• Read and interpret engineering drawings, 3D models, GD&T, and process sheets.
• Verify CNC programs through simulation before production.
• Modify and troubleshoot existing CNC programs as required.
• Support machine operators during setup and production.
• Conduct first-off trials and validate machining programs.
• Coordinate with the Design department regarding manufacturability and process

improvements.

• Prepare setup sheets, tool lists, operation sheets, and machining instructions.
• Maintain program backups and revision control.
• Investigate machining issues and implement corrective actions.
• Ensure compliance with quality standards, safety procedures, and company SOPs.

Preferred candidate profile

Strong experience in CNC Turning, VMC, HMC, and Wire EDM programming.

• Hands-on experience with Fanuc, Siemens, and Mitsubishi CNC controllers.
• Proficiency in CAM software (such as Mastercam, AutoCAD CAM, NX CAM, or equivalent).
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and GD&T.
• Good understanding of G-code and M-code programming.
• Knowledge of machining parameters including cutting speed, feed rate, depth of cut, and tool life optimization.
• Experience with fixture design concepts and work-holding methods.
• Knowledge of cutting tools, inserts, drills, boring tools, end mills, face mills, taps, reamers, and thread mills.
• Experience in machining materials such as Mild Steel, Alloy Steel, Stainless Steel, Tool Steel, Cast Iron, Aluminium, Brass, and Copper.
• Understanding of Wire EDM machining principles and programming.
• Familiarity with CNC machine setup and process validation.
• Knowledge of quality inspection methods and measuring instruments.
